TO TRAIN ADULTS IN THE METHODS AND PHILOSOPHY OF WALDORF EDUCATION, TO GRADUATE TEACHERS TO SUPPLY THE GROWING NEEDS OF WALDORF SCHOOLS IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST, AND TO PROVIDE ADULT EDUCATION ON THE PRINCIPLES OF ANTHROPOSOPHY AND WALDORF EDUCATION.

TEACHER TRAINING THIS PROGRAM INTRODUCES ADULTS WISHING TO BE WALDORF TEACHERS TO THE SPIRIT AND METHODOLOGIES OF WALDORF EDUCATION. IT INVOLVES INDIVIDUAL STUDY, GROUP WORK, PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN WALDORF CLASSROOMS (UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF AN EXPERIENCED TEACHER) AND WITH SUPERVISORY VISITS FROM SOUND CIRCLE TEACHERS, AND A DEEPENING PRACTICE OF A WIDE RANGE OF ARTS. THERE ARE TEN NEW STUDENTS. THERE IS AN EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM WHICH IS A RECENTLY INTRODUCED PROGRAM FOR ALREADY PRACTICING EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS WORKING WALDORF AFFILIATED OR WALDORF INSPIRED PRESCHOOLS. IT FOLLOWS MUCH THE SAME TYPE OF CURRICULUM AS THE TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM OUTLINED DIRECTLY ABOVE, HOWEVER IT IS GEARED TO TEACHERS WHO ARE WORKING WITH YOUNGER GRADES AND WHO NEED INSTRUCTION IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT, CURRICULUM, ACTIVITIES AND ARTS APPROPRIATE TO THE YOUNG CHILD. WE HAVE FIFTEEN NEW STUDENTS.
LEADING WITH SPIRIT LEADING WITH SPIRIT IS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERSHIP IN WALDORF SCHOOLS AND COLLABORATIVE INSTITUTIONS ACROSS THE CONTINENT. IT INCLUDES THREE ONE-WEEK SUMMER INTENSIVES THAT CAN BE TAKEN SEPARATELY OR AS PART OF A TWO-YEAR PART-TIME PROGRAM WITH MONTHLY MENTORING, RESEARCH PROJECTS, INDEPENDENT STUDY, AND PARTICIPATION IN ONLINE COLLEGIAL SEMINARS.
