AMONG IT'S MANY PROGRAMS, THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES MEDICAL SUPPORT TO SERVICE MEMBERS- AND THEIR FAMILIES, OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS TO FAMILIES AND STAFF, SUPPORTS A HOST OF PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN, SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES, SPONSORS AN ANNUAL LECTURE ON MILITARY MEDICAL RESEARCH, SUPPORTS MEDICAL RESEARCH AND CLINICAL CARE WITH EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING. SINCE ITS' ESTABLISHMENT, WITH THE GENEROSITY OF IT'S SUPPORTERS, THE FOUNDATION HAS PROVIDED OVER 1,303,684 IN EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES.

YOUNG HEROES BRAVE SOLDIERS CAN WEAR MANY DIFFERENT UNIFORMS-FIGHTING A LIFE-THREATENING ILLNESS IS LIKE FIGHTING A WAR AND ONE OF THOSE UNIFORMS CAN BE CHILDRENS CLOTHES. THESE CHILDREN ARE THE SOLDIERS BEYOND THE BATTLEFIELD AND ARE FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE ARMED SERVICES WHOSE GREAT HEROISM DESERVE SPECIAL RECOGNITION. SINCE 1999, THE MADIGAN FOUNDATION HAS SPONSORED THE PROGRAM AS AN ANNUAL EVENT AT MADIGAN ARMY MEDICAL CENTER; AND HAS HONORED MANY CHILDREN OVER THE LAST 18 YEARS. CHILDREN CAN BE NOMINATED BY FRIENDS, FAMILY, TEACHERS, AND PHYSICIANS- AND ARE SELECTED FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING DEMONSTRATION OF COURAGE AND VALOR.
DENTAL SCREENING PROGRAM. THIS FOUNDATION SUPPORTS DENTAL SCREENING OF MILITARY CHILDREN ON JOINT BASE LEWIS MCCORD BY THE LINDQUIST DENTAL CLINIC FOR CHILDREN, A NON-PROFIT WHOSE MISSION IS TO PROVIDE DENTAL CARE FOR NEEDY CHILDREN. 50-80% OF THESE CHILDREN RECEIVE FREE OR SUBSIDIZED LUNCHES. THE INDIVIDUAL DENTAL SCREENING PROVIDES A DENTAL REPORT CARD FOR EACH STUDENT AND IDENTIFIES DENTAL NEEDS IN A SMALL BUT SIGNIFICANT PERCENTAGE OF THE CHILDREN. ALL OF THE CHILDREN ARE ALSO OFFERED FLUORIDE AND SEALANT TREATMENTS THAT ARE ACCOMPLISHED AT A LATER TIME. IN 2021, THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTED THE SCREENING OF MORE THAN 800 CHILDREN.
VISION SUPPORT PROGRAM. PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR LOW-RANKING SERVICE MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO PURCHASE EYEGLASSES FOR SPECIAL NEEDS AND OTHER CHILDREN. IN 2021,A TOTAL OF 48 FAMILIES WERE ASSISTED WITH THIS PROGRAM.
OTHER PROGRAMS AND GRANTS TO SUPPORT SERVICE MEMBERS, THEIR FAMILIES, AND MEDICAL PERSONNEL WHICH INLCUDE EMERGENCY TAXI SERVICE, MOTHERS TRAY MEALS, NURSING SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS, MASTECTOMY GARMENTS, AND MEDICAL RESEARCH AND TRAINING CONFERENCE SUPPORT.
