WE WORK TO ADDRESS THE IMPACT OF SERIOUS LEGAL PROBLEMS FOR INDIVIDUALS AND LOW-INCOME FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING FREE LEGAL ADVICE AND REPRESENTATION TO RESOLVE ISSUES SUCH AS LOSS OF HOUSING OR HEALTH CARE, FORECLOSURE, COLLECTIONS, CUSTODY ISSUES, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, OR SEXUAL ASSAULT AMONG OTHERS. OUR ROLE AS A CIVIL LEGAL AID PROGRAM IS TO BUILD AWARENESS OF LEGAL AID SERVICES IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES AND TO ADVOCATE FOR OUR CLIENTS TO RECEIVE TIMELY LEGAL SERVICE THAT IS ON PAR WITH SERVICES PROVIDED TO PEOPLE WHO CAN AFFORD TO PAY FOR AN ATTORNEY. JUSTICE AND ACCESS TO THE JUSTICE SYSTEM SHOULD NOT BE LIMITED TO THOSE WHO CAN AFFORD IT.
