PROVIDE LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO THE INDIGENT IN FEDERAL TRIAL COURTS AND COURTS OF APPEAL AND TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR LAW STUDENTS AND QUALIFIED ATTORNEYS IN ORDER TO ADVANCE THE ADMINISTRATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE. 995 CLIENTS WER E SERVED IN THE YEAR ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2021.
AS PART OF OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR LAW STUDENTS, WE PROVIDE INTERNSHIPS IN A COOPERATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM WITH COLLEGES ACTING AS A HOST IN THIS ARRANGEMENT BY PROVIDING A WORK-RELATED LEGAL EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE. WE AVERAGE 3 INTERNS DURING THE SCHOOL-YEAR WITH UP TO 4 INTERNS DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS. THERE ARE NO OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES FOR THIS PROGRAM.
WE ARE ACTIVE IN TRAINING THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACT (CJA) PANEL MEMBERS IN EASTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTH IDAHO WHICH IS ADMINISTERED BY THE RESPECTIVE U.S. DISTRICT COURTS AND TOTALED 47 MEMBERS FOR EASTERN WASHINGTON AND 8 MEMBERS FOR NORTH IDAHO. WE HELD 8 MONTHLY NOON IN-PERSON MEETINGS (68 AGGREGATE ATTENDEES).
