INVASIVE SPECIES: INVASIVE PLANT SPECIES RESEARCH, PREVENTION AND CONTROL PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION: BENEFITED COMMUNITIES AND TRIBES IN EIGHT LARGE WATERSHEDS ON THE NORTH, WEST, AND COASTAL OLYMPIC PENINSULA, DEVELOPING AND MANAGING PROGRAMS TO SURVEY, STUDY, PREVENT, CONTROL, AND MONITOR INVASIVE PLANTS THAT DEGRADE NATIVE FOREST AND RIPARIAN ECOSYSTEMS; HARMING SALMON, WILDLIFE, AND WATER QUALITY. CONTRIBUTE SERVICES AND DATA TO FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL AGENCIES, PROVIDED EDUCATION AND SERVICES TO LOCAL COMMUNITIES, HIRED LOCAL CREWS, AND TRAINED CITIZENS TO DO WORK ON THEIR PROPERTIES. BENEFITTED FORESTRY, FISHERIES, AGRICULTURE, AND RECREATIONAL INDUSTRIES AND USERS, AND ADDED CAPACITY TO FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL, AND TRIBAL NATURAL RESOURCES AND TRANSPORTATION AGENCIES AND MANAGMENT PROGRAMS - AN ESTIMATED 60,000 PEOPLE.


FOREST AND AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS SERVICES: WORKED FOR AND WITH NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND CONTRIBUTED RESEARCH, CREWS, AND PARTICIPATED IN PROGRAM AND PROJECT DEVELOPMENT ON FOREST, AQUATIC ECOSYSTEM, SALMON HABITAT, AND CLIMATE CHANGE RESPONSE STRATEGIES AND METHODS. PARTNERS INCLUDED THE NON-PROFIT OLYMPIC FOREST COALITION, OLYMPIC NATIONAL FOREST, AND THE TIMBER INDUSTRY IN A COLLABORATIVE TO IMPROVE ECOLOGICAL OUTCOMES DURING THINNING FEDERAL FORESTS, AND WITH OTHER NON-PROFIT AND ECOLOGICAL CONSULTING FIRMS TO CRAFT PROPOSALS FOR AQUATIC AND FOREST RESTORATION. PARTICIPATED IN SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY GROUPS TO ADDRESS MULTIPLE RESEARCH NEEDS FOR AQUATIC HABITATS AND FOREST HEALTH ON FORESTLANDS TO BETTER PROTECT AND ENHANCE FOREST HEALTH, CARBON SEQUESTRATION, AQUATIC HABITAT HEALTH AND RESILIENCY, AND WATER QUALITY AND QUANTITY.
