LAND PROTECTION PROGRAMS:RAISED OVER $65,000 AT OUR 2023 CELEBRATE HARVEST DINNER & AUCTION TO HELP PROTECT 80 ACRES OF FARMLAND AT THE CHUCKANUT FREEWAY INTERCHANGE.
OUTREACH:SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED THE BE BIRD WISE INAUGURAL ANNUAL COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR WHILE VIEWING MIGRATORY BIRDS ON THE AGRICULTURAL LANDSCAPE.CREATED AND SPONSORED THE AGRITOURISM MULTI-STAKEHOLDER WORKGROUP A COALITION OF LOCAL FARMS, FARM BUSINESSES, AGRICULTURAL AND TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS, TO DEVELOP WIN/WIN POLICY AND CODE RECOMMENDATIONS AS PART OF SKAGIT COUNTY'S CODE UPDATES TO ADDRESS AGRITOURISM.
FARM TOURS AND EDUCATION:PROVIDED A $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP TO ANDREW VILLARD, A LA CONNER HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR. ANDREW IS AN APPRENTICE WITH MOTOR TRUCKS INTERNATIONAL AND IS ATTENDING BELLINGHAM TECHNICAL COLLEGE FOR DIESEL TECHNOLOGY.
