MOUNT BAKER HOUSING ASSOCIATION OWNS AND MANAGES ONE RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY, AND ITS AFFILIATES (TOGETHER WITH THE ORGANIZATION) OWN SIX RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES AND FIVE DEVELOPMENT SITES, TWO OF WHICH IN 2023 WERE UNDER CONSTRUCTION, FOR A TOTAL OF 357 UNITS OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN SOUTHEAST SEATTLE.MOUNT BAKER HOUSING ASSOCIATION OFFERS A GENERAL RESIDENT SERVICES PROGRAM AVAILABLE TO ALL PERSONS RESIDING IN ANY ONE OF ITS COMMUNITIES LOCATED IN SOUTHEAST SEATTLE. THE CURRENTLY ESTABLISHED MT. BAKER HOUSING'S HOUSING STABILITY MODEL FOCUSES ON FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY, HOUSEHOLD WELLBEING, AND COMMUNITY BELONGING. THE PROGRAM OFFERS TO RESIDENT'S FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, ACCESS TO HEALTH RESOURCES, LIFE SKILLS AND EDUCATION, FAMILY AND YOUTH SERVICES, AND COMMUNITY AND CULTURAL EVENTS. THE RESIDENT SERVICES PROGRAM USES TARGETED STRATEGIES TO INTENTIONALLY AND EFFECTIVELY WORK AT ENGAGING HISTORICALLY VULNERABLE AND DISENFRANCHISED COMMUNITIES FROM REFUGEE AND IMMIGRANT BACKGROUNDS, AS WELL AS COMMUNITIES OF COLOR. IT ALSO SPONSORS GUEST SPEAKERS AND PROGRAMS THAT HIGHLIGHT CONNECTION TO COMMUNITY, HEALTHY EATING, PUBLIC SAFETY, AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT.
