ADS: AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES, CITY OF SEATTLE:THROUGH THE ADS CONTRACT IN 2021, SPSC PROVIDED SERVICES AND RESOURCES TO 663 BIPOC SENIORS, HALF OF WHOM LIVE BELOW POVERTY LEVEL. THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC, SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDED: 25,008 MEALS PREPARED AND DELIVERED TO SENIORS IN THEIR HOMES, 688 FRESH PRODUCE BOXES, 766 SOCIAL SERVICE SUPPORT SESSIONS, 141 EXERCISE, YOGA, DANCE, AND KARAOKE SESSIONS (VIRTUAL AND IN-HOUSE), 7 FIELD TRIPS, MONTHLY BOOK CLUB, AND 148 DISTRIBUTIONS OF INFORMATION ON HEALTH, WELLNESS, COVID SAFETY, AND ACTIVITIES/GAMES.
SENIOR HEALTH PROMOTION, KING COUNTY:IN 2021, ACCOMPLISHMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SENIOR HEALTH PROMOTION CONTRACT INCLUDE: 1) THE HIRING OF LEAD SOCIAL WORKER, JANETTE GARCIA, MSW TO ESTABLISH A SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT, INCLUDING POLICY, PROCEDURE, AND BEST PRACTICES. 2) THE ONBOARDING OF A NEW DATABASE TO ALLOW WORK TO BE DONE WITH COMPLETE HIPAA COMPLIANCE, AND IN GREATER DEPTH THAN WAS PREVIOUSLY POSSIBLE. 3) THE HIRING OF TWO BILINGUAL SOCIAL WORK/SUPPORT STAFF, ALLOWING US TO SERVE IN THE PRIMARY FOUR LANGUAGES SPOKEN AT OUR CENTER (SPANISH, KHMER, VIETNAMESE, ENGLISH). 4) 1,230+ SOCIAL SERVICE HOURS WERE PROVIDED WITHIN 766 SUPPORT SESSIONS; 562 UNDUPLICATED SENIORS WERE SERVED.
COMMUNITY DINING, SOUND GENERATIONS:IN 2021, THE COMMUNITY DINING PROGRAM EVOLVED TO A HIGHER-CALIBER DELIVERY THROUGH THE ONBOARDING OF AN OPERATIONS MANAGER AND FORMER PROFESSIONAL CHEF, COREY POONACHA, AND THE HIRING OF PROFESSIONALLY-TRAINED CHEF ANITA HARDY. THE MEAL PROGRAM ROSE TO MEET THE DEMANDS OF THE PANDEMIC BY PIVOTING FROM IN-HOUSE DINING FOR APPROXIMATELY 165 MEALS WEEKLY TO 500 MEALS PREPARED AND DELIVERED TO HOMEBOUND SENIORS EACH WEEK. COLLECTIVELY, OVER 25,008 MEALS WERE PROVIDED TO SENIORS, ALONG WITH 688 FRESH PRODUCE BOXES.
