A 100% VOLUNTEER BASED ORGANIZATION OF PARENTS WHO PARTNER WITH SCHOOL STAFF AND ADMINISTRATION TO ENHANCE THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE OF THE STUDENTS AT WEDGWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON. THE PTA SUPPORTS TEACHERS, STAFF, AND FAMILIES TO PROVIDE A HIGH QUALITY EDUCATION AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT. OUR MISSION IS TO SUPPORT THE SOCIAL, ACADEMIC AND PHYSICAL NEEDS OF EACH CHILD. TO ENCOURAGE THE EXCELLENCE OF OUR EDUCATORS WITH FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT. ALSO TO ENRICH OUR COMMUNITY OF FAMILIES THROUGH COMMUNICATIONS AND ACTIVITIES.

TEACHER/ STAFF/ CLASSROOM SUPPORT = SUPPORT FOR THE TEACHERS AND STAFF AT WEDGWOOD ELEMENTARY AS THEY INTERACT WITH STUDENTS IN THE CLASSROOMS. THIS CATEGORY INCLUDES: 1) TEACHER'S SUPPLY FUND SO THAT THE TEACHERS CAN BUY GENERAL SUPPLIES, BOOKS AND MATERIALS REQUIRED TO TEACH THEIR GRADE LEVEL 2) TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING ON OUR NEW CURRICULUM 3) NEW LIBRARY BOOKS, 4) DRAWING ARTIST AND ART SUPPLIES 5) SPECIAL PROJECTS.


OTHER PROGRAM EXPENSES INCLUDE FAMILY DANCE EXPENSES, MEMBERSHIP SERVICE FEES, ASSEMBILES AND OTHER ENRICHMENT EXPENSES, 5TH GRADE PROMOTION EXPENSES, STUDENT COUNCIL EXPENSES AND CONFLICT MANAGERS EXPENSES.


BUILDING AND GROUNDS SUPPORT = IMPROVEMENTS TO THE BUILDING AND GROUNDS OF WEDGWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO IMPROVE LEARNING, ACTIVITY AND SAFETY. THIS CATEGORY INCLUDES: 1) PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENTS 2) NEW COMPUTERS FOR GENERAL CLASSROOM USE 3) GARDEN BEAUTIFICATION 4) SMALL SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.


SCHOOL STAFFING = MONEY GIVEN TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR TUTORS AND HOURLY OFFICE AND RECESS SUPPORT STAFF.
