FEEDING CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES: BREAKTIME-MEALTIME ENDS HUNGER BY DISTRIBUTING SAFEWAY FOOD DURING SCHOOL BREAKS TO CHILDREN ENROLLED IN THE FEDERAL FREE AND REDUCED-PRICE LUNCH PROGRAM. IN 2020, THE PROGRAM EXPANDED TO PROVIDE GROCERY STORE FOOD VOUCHERS WHILE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, 2,868 STUDENTS WERE FED.
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE:EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE: KEEPS KIDS STABLE AND IN THEIR HOMES BY PROVIDING FOOD AND BASIC, NEEDS, EVICTION PREVENTION AND MOVE-IN ASSISTANCE FOR FAMILIES IN CRISIS. FAMILIES CAN RECEIVE UP TO THREE MONTHS OF RENTAL ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE ECONOMIC EFFECTS OF THE PANDEMIC. FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, WE PROVIDED 304 RENT PAYMENTS TO 203 FAMILIES FACING HOMELESSNESS AND PROVIDED 25 PAYMENTS TO 23 FAMILIES FOR UTILITIES AND OTHER ESSENTIAL SERVICES.HOLIDAY ADOPT-A-FAMILY: MATCHES FAMILIES IN NEED WITH SPONSORS WHO PROVIDE FOOD AND GIFTS FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON. FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, 1,060 CHILDREN WERE SERVED.
CLOTHING CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES: CLOTHES-4-KIDS PROVIDES CHILDREN WITH VOUCHERS FOR NEW BACK-TO-SCHOOL CLOTHES SO THEY CAN BEGIN THEIR SCHOOL YEAR CONFIDENT AND READY TO LEARN. FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, 666 CHILDREN WERE SERVED. THRIFT CULTURE THE BELLEVUE LIFESPRING THRIFT CULTURE SUPPLIES QUALITY NEW AND USE CLOTHING, SHOES AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS AT AFFORDABLE PRICES. VOUCHERS ARE GIVEN TO FAMILIES WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY. DUE TO ISSUES STEMMING FROM THE PANDEMIC, THRIFT CULTURE WAS CLOSED FOR ALL OF FY2020-21.
