THE MEMBERS AND STAFF OF THE ST. THOMAS DISTRICT COUNCIL PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO THE POOR, HOMELESS, AND UNEMPLOYED POPULATIONS OF OUR COMMUNITY, AS WELL AS PEOPLE WHO NEED ASSISTANCE DURING UNEXPECTED LIFE CRISIS.

CONFERENCES - AFFILIATED WITH 13 CONFERENCES IN THE OWENSBORO AREA, ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CONFERENCES PROVIDE PERSON-TO-PERSON ASSISTANCE TO IMPOVERISHED MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY. CONFERENCE MEMBERS VISIT THOSE IN NEED IN THEIR HOMES, OFFERING DIRECT ASSISTANCE IN MANY FORMS, SUCH AS GROCERIES, UTILITIY PAYMENTS, RENT OR MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE, PRESCRIPTIONS, OR SIMPLY LISTENING WITH COMPASSION AND OFFERING PRAYERS.
THRIFT STORES - THE PROGRAM OPERATES SIX THRIFT STORES WHERE DONATED CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS ARE DISTRIBUTED FREE OF CHARGE OR AT NOMINAL COSTS.
