TO FOSTER AND DEVELOP A SAFE AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE BLACK MEN IN DANE COUNTY THROUGH COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, MENTORSHIP, EDUCATION, AND EMPLOYMENT SKILLS. BY PROVIDING THESE OPPORTUNITIES WE BELIEVE WE ARE GENERATING A SENSE OF BELONGING, WHICH IS CRITICAL TO SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

YOUTH BASEBALL - TO INCREASE PARTICIPATION AMONG UNDERSERVED YOUTH BY PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN AND ENJOY THE GAME OF BASEBALL
YOUTH BASEBALL LEAGUE: BMCF OPERATES THE LARGEST FREE BASEBALL YOUTH LEAGUE FOR INDIGENT, UNDERSERVED YOUTH IN MADISON. THE LEAGUE PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE UNDERSERVED CHILDREN PARTICIPATING TO LEARN AND ENJOY THE GAME OF BASEBALL, WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY PROMOTING POSITIVE VALUES OF BEING PART OF A TEAM, GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, THE IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL HEALTH AND EXERCISE, AND CREATES A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND BELONGING. BMCF COVERS ALL REGISTRATION AND PARTICIPATION FEES, UNIFORMS FOR THE CHILDREN, AND PROVIDES ALL SPORTING EQUIPMENT, AND PERSONNEL REQUIRED TO RUN AND MANAGE LEAGUE ACTIVITIES.

FINANCIAL LITERACY - PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL LENDING INSTITUTIONS AND FINANCIAL CONSULTANTS WE ARE PROVIDING INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING FOR BLACK MEN AND BLACK YOUTH IN DANE COUNTY. OFFERING A 6 WEEK FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM.
EMPLOYMENT WORKPLACE TRANSPORTATION: BMCF WORKS IN COLLABORATION WITH A COOPERATIVE JOB SEARCH EMPLOYMENT PLACEMENT ORGANIZATION (BLACK MEN COALITION OF DANE COUNTY LLC - BMCDC LLC) TO FIND INDIGENT YOUNG BLACK MEN WITH EMPLOYMENT, WHO ARE GENERALLY RECENTLY RELEASED PAROLEES AND AT SUBSTANTIAL DISADVANTAGE OF GAINING MEANINGFUL AND STABLE EMPLOYMENT AFTER THEIR RELEASE. BMCF PROVIDES FREE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO ENABLE THESE YOUNG MEN TO TIMELY, RELIABLY AND SAFELY ARRIVE AND LEAVE THEIR PLACES OF EMPLOYMENT, TO MAXIMIZE THEIR LIKELIHOOD OF RETAINING GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT. BMCF HAS PASSENGER VANS RUNNING THREE SHIFTS, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, TO HELP TRANSPORT EMPLOYEES TO AND FROM WORK, AT NO COST TO THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS IT SERVES. BMCDC WAS NOT ESTABLISHED AS A 501C.3 ENTITY, HOWEVER THE PURPOSE OF THAT LLC IS SOLELY TO FIND EMPLOYMENT AND PLACE THE RECENTLY PAROLED YOUNG MEN INTO MEANINGFUL, STABLE EMPLOYMENT WITH THIRD PARTY BUSINESSES, AND HAVE THOSE EMPLOYMENT ARRANGEMENTS LEGALLY RING FENCED FROM BMCF'S OTHER CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES (I.E. IN 4A AND 4B). THE MISSION OF BMCF AND BMCDC ARE INTRINSICALLY LINKED AND ENTIRELY CONSISTENT WITH THE CHARITABLE PURPOSE OF BMCF. BMCF LOANED BMCDC FUNDS TO HELP WITH INITIAL CASH FLOW TO PAY THE PLACED YOUNG MEN WITH THEIR INITIAL SALARIES, PAYROLL TAXES AND SETUP EXPENSES (AS DISCLOSED ON SCHEDULE L, PART II). IT IS BMCF'S INTENTION TO AMALGAMATE BMCDC LLC INTO BMCF, DURING EITHER 2024 OR 2025.

BMCF (WITH ITS PARTNERS) RUN A 6 WEEK FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM WHICH TEACHES PARTICIPANTS THE IMPORTANCE OF BUDGETING, MANAGING EXPENSES, AND PRACTISES TO IMPROVE THEIR CREDIT RECORDS AND CREDIT HISTORY.
