RESOURCES ARE USED BY HEAD START OF NORTHEASTERN NEVADA TO OPERATE CENTERS IN ELKO NEVADA FOR PRESCHOOL CHILDREN. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE EARLY CHILD DEVELOPMENT FOR CHILDREN OF LOW-INCOME FAMILIES. HEAD START OF NORTHEASTERN NEVADA ALSO PROVIDES A PROGRAM FOR LOW-INCOME PREGNANT WOMEN AND FAMILIES WITH INFANTS AND TODDLERS. THE HEAD START PROGRAM SERVED 109 CHIDREN AND EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM SERVED 36 CHILDREN. SIX CLASSROOMS WERE USED TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO THE HEAD START PROGRAM AND FIVE CLASSROOMS WERE USED FOR THE EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM.
