SECOND STREET SECOND CHANCES, INC. MISSION IS TO TREAT FORMERLY INCARCERATED INDIVIDUALS WITH RESPECT AND ENCOURAGEMENT, PROVIDE THEM WITH JOB READINESS SKILLS AND ACCESS TO JOB OPPORTUNITIES, PREPARING THEM TO BECOME PRODUCTIVE AND CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF THEIR COMMUNITIES, AND EDUCATING AND ADVOCATING FOR COMMUNITIES TO EMBRACE THEM AS SUCH.

SECOND STREET COORDINATES A MYRIAD OF SERVICES, ON SITE AND WITHIN THE COMMUNITY, AT A CONVENIENT AND WELCOMING ONE-STOP FACILITY. PRIOR TO A PERSON BEING RELEASED FROM THE BERKSHIRE COUNTY HOUSE OF CORRECTIONS, THEY ARE MADE AWARE OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED AT SECOND STREET. THE FIRST 72 HOURS AFTER RELEASE ARE CRITICAL TO THE CLIENTS SUCCESS. OUR COMMUNITY RESOURCE NAVIGATORS CONNECT WITH THEM TO ASSESS THEIR NEEDS. SERVICES AND REFERRALS ARE PROVIDED REGARDLESS OF HOW LONG AGO INCARCERATION TOOK PLACE AND INCLUDE: MEDICAL MENTAL HEALTH SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER SERVICES FINANCIAL RESOURCES AND LITERACY TRANSPORTATION FAMILY REUNIFICATION HOUSING EMPLOYMENT JOB TRAINING LEGAL SERVICES SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT THE STAFF AT SECOND STREET WORKS WITH EACH CLIENT TO DEVELOP AND INDIVIDUALIZED RE-ENTRY PLAN.
