EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM: DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, 84 STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED AT KALEIDOSCOPE HEIGHTS ACADEMY (KHA). THESE STUDENTS WERE OF VARYING ABILITY LEVELS AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS. KHA OFFERS PROGRESSIVE EDUCATION BASED ON THE BEST PRACTICES IN EDUCATION, WHILE STILL ALLOWING EACH STUDENT TO REACH THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL GOALS THAT ARE BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THAT STUDENT.
DYSLEXIA: DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, KALEIDOSCOPE HEIGHTS ACADEMY'S DYSLEXIA THERAPY PROGRAM SERVED TWENTY-EIGHT 1ST-12TH GRADE STUDENTS WITH DYSLEXIA OR READING-RELATED DISORDERS. SKILLS ADDRESSED IN DYSLEXIA THERAPY INCLUDED: ALPHABET, READING, SPELLING, WRITING, AND LISTENING/READING COMPREHENSION. STUDENTS IN THE DYSLEXIA PROGRAM ARE MONITORED FOR GROWTH USING INFORMAL BENCHMARKS AND FORMAL PRE AND POST ASSESSMENTS.
CAREER: FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, ELEVEN STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED IN THE CAREER PROGRAM TO PREPARE THEM FOR AN OCCUPATION AND INDEPENDENT LIVING. THE STUDENTS SHOWED GREAT IMPROVEMENTS IN SOCIAL SKILLS AND LEARNED BASIC LIFE SKILLS SUCH AS VACUUMING, SWEEPING, TAKING OUT THE TRASH AND DUSTING. COMMUNITY OUTREACH PRODUCED INTERNSHIPS FOR THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR.
