CULTIVATING HEALTHY CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITY THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH FOOD FROM SEED TO TABLE.

YOUTH PROGRAMS 922 CHILDREN AND YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN IN- AND OUT-OF-SCHOOL GARDEN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. YGP'S "HARVEST OF THE MONTH" PROGRAM VISITED EACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LUNCHROOM IN GRAND COUNTY 6 TIMES, BRINGING VEGGIES SUCH AS SPINACH, TOMATOES, AND CARROTS FOR TASTE TESTING. EIGHT FAMILIES RECEIVED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR OUR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM, WHICH SERVED A TOTAL OF 64 CHILDREN THROUGHOUT THE NINE WEEKS OF CAMP.


FOOD & GARDEN PROGRAMS 5,424 POUNDS OF FRESH PRODUCE WERE GROWN AND DISTRIBUTED TO HOUSEHOLDS IN MOAB. THAT'S ENOUGH TO FEED 71 FAMILIES. 41% OF FOOD GROWN WAS GIVEN TO FOOD PANTRY CLIENTS. 3,600+ FLOWER, VEGETABLE, AND HERB STARTS WERE SOLD TO LOCAL GARDENERS AT YGP'S SPRING PLANT SALE. YGP HOSTED 2 FREE COMMUNITY EVENTS THAT CELEBRATED FOOD, COMMUNITY, AND THE CARE IT TAKES TO GROW AND NOURISH BOTH. 373 YOUTH AND ADULTS VOLUNTEERED TO HELP IN THE GARDEN. YGP'S PICK-YOUR-OWN NIBBLE GARDEN WAS REDESIGNED IN 2023 AND EXPERIENCED A LARGE INCREASE IN USAGE AMONGST COMMUNITY MEMBERS, WHO WERE ABLE TO HARVEST FREE, FRESH, LOCALLY-GROWN FOOD THROUGHOUT THE GROWING SEASON.
