DURING 2021, THE UTAH DOWN SYNDROME FOUNDATION ACCOMPLISHED ITS MISSION OF PROVIDING HOPE TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DOWN SYNDROME, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THE COMMUNITY THROUGH SUPPORT, EDUCATION, ACTIVITIES, OUTREACH, AND ADVOCACY. SUPPORT: UDSF PROVIDED SUPPORT TO 40 NEW AND EXPECTANT PARENTS WHO RECEIVED A DOWN SYNDROME DIAGNOSIS FOR THEIR CHILD IN 2021 BY DELIVERING NEW PARENT CARE PACKAGES TO THEM. UDSF ALSO OFFERED SUPPORT AND EDUCATION TO 95 NEW PARENTS THROUGH ITS QUARTERLY NEW PARENT BREAKFASTS. EDUCATION: UDSF PROVIDED ESSENTIAL EDUCATION SPECIFIC TO DOWN SYNDROME TO OVER 12,000 VISITORS TO OUR WEBSITE, UDSF.ORG. UDSF'S LOWDOWN NEWSLETTER PROVIDED EDUCATION AND OUTREACH EACH MONTH TO OVER 1400 MEMBERS OF OUR DOWN SYNDROME COMMUNITY. DURING THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR, UDSF TAUGHT 12 DOWN TO LEARN WORKSHOPS AND EDUCATED 60 PARENTS ON HOW TO BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR THEIR CHILD WITH DOWN SYNDROME IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. UDSF HELPED EDUCATE 250 ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ABOUT DOWN SYNDROME THROUGH ITS PEER PRESENTATION TOOL KITS. UDSF ALSO EDUCATED 160 PARENTS ON HOW TO PLAN FOR THEIR CHILD'S FUTURE THROUGH THREE FINANCIAL WORKSHOPS. ACTIVITIES: UDSF PROVIDED OUTREACH, CONNECTION, AND SUPPORT TO OVER 950 PARTICIPANTS THROUGH UDSF'S COMMUNITY GROUP ACTIVITIES AND VIRTUAL MIGHTY STEPS FOR DOWN SYNDROME WALK. OUTREACH: UDSF MAILED OUT OVER 850 BIRTHDAY CARDS FOR A FREE ICE CREAM TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DOWN SYNDROME ACROSS THE STATE. UDSF ALSO CREATED AND PRINTED 300 NEW AND EXPECTANT PARENT RESOURCE GUIDE WITH THE HELP OF THE UTAH BOARD OF HEALTH TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO MEDICAL PROVIDERS TO OFFER SUPPORT AND RESOURCES TO NEW PARENTS WHO HAVE A CHILD WITH DOWN SYNDROME.
