Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
SINCE 1931, UTAH'S HOGLE ZOO, NESTLED AT THE MOUTH OF HISTORIC EMIGRATION CANYON, HAS BEEN HOME FOR MORE THAN 650 EXTRAORDINARY ANIMALS, RANGING FROM MAJESTIC RHINOS AND GRACEFUL GIRAFFES TO PLAYFUL POLAR BEARS AND FIERCE LIONS. ACROSS GENERATIONS, FAMILIES HAVE FORGED UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES HERE, IMMERSING THEMSELVES IN THE WONDERS OF THE NATURAL WORLD AND FORMING DEEP BONDS WITH THESE MAGNIFICENT CREATURES. STEP INTO HOGLE ZOO, AND YOU'LL EMBARK ON A JOURNEY UNLIKE ANY OTHER. FEEL THE GENTLE CARESS OF AN 18-INCH GIRAFFE TONGUE AS IT DELICATELY ACCEPTS LETTUCE FROM YOUR HAND. HEAR THE RHYTHMIC SLURP OF A RHINO SAVORING AN APPLE. WITNESS THE GRACEFUL DANCE OF POLAR BEARS BENEATH THE SHIMMERING SURFACE OF THE WATER OR CAPTURE A SELFIE WITH A CURIOUS SEAL GLIDING BEHIND THE GLASS. YET, OUR MISSION EXTENDS FAR BEYOND MERE ENTERTAINMENT. WE BELIEVE IN HARNESSING THESE MAGICAL CONNECTIONS TO FOSTER PROFOUND POSITIVE CHANGE. OUR ANIMALS SERVE AS AMBASSADORS, AND OUR ZOO AS THE CONDUIT FOR TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT. THROUGH THE POWER OF EDUCATION, WE IGNITE A PASSION FOR THE NATURAL WORLD IN OVER 252,815 K-12 STUDENTS ANNUALLY THROUGH OUR EDUCATION CLASSES AND PROGRAMS, FREE FIELD TRIPS, AND INFORMAL SCIENCE EDUCATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMS, INSTILLING A SENSE OF WONDER AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR PLANET'S FUTURE. WE PROVIDE SOLACE AND JOY TO 1,500 PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED, SPECIAL NEEDS, AND CHRONICALLY ILL CHILDREN THROUGH DREAM NIGHT, OFFERING MOMENTS OF RESPITE AND HEALING AMIDST THE BEAUTY OF NATURE. COLLABORATING WITH ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THE SAN DIEGO ZOO WILDLIFE ALLIANCE, WE EXTEND OUR REACH, BRINGING THE WONDERS OF THE ANIMAL KINGDOM TO THOSE IN NEED, FROM PRIMARY CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL TO THE RONALD MACDONALD HOUSE. LOCALLY, WE SERVE AS AN ECONOMIC ENGINE, PROVIDING OVER 350 DIRECT JOBS AND INJECTING MORE THAN 25 MILLION INTO UTAH'S ECONOMY EACH YEAR. BEYOND THE FINANCIAL IMPACT, OUR ZOO TEEN PROGRAM EMPOWERS THE NEXT GENERATION WITH VITAL JOB SKILLS AND A DEEP SENSE OF ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP. OUR VOLUNTEERS, NUMBERING MORE THAN 400 STRONG, LEND THEIR TIME AND TALENTS TO SUPPORT MULTIPLE VARIOUS PROJECTS LIKE RESTORING AND CARING FOR THE JORDAN RIVER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE JORDAN RIVER COMMISSION AND WORKING WITH THE UTAH DIVISION OF WILDLIFE RESOURCES TO REPATRIATE BOREAL TOAD POPULATIONS AND INFORM OUR COMMUNITY HOW TO BE "WILD AWARE" - LIVING SAFELY ALONGSIDE WILDLIFE. BUT OUR IMPACT KNOWS NO BORDERS. INTERNATIONALLY, WE SUPPORT WILDLIFE CONSERVATION EFFORTS, PROVIDING EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATION TO THOSE SAFEGUARDING ELEPHANTS AND LIONS IN AFRICA, WHILE ALSO ENHANCING SAFETY MEASURES IN ARCTIC REGIONS BY MONITORING POLAR BEAR ACTIVITY. WE ENVISION A WORLD WHERE HUMANITY AND WILDLIFE FLOURISH IN HARMONY, WHERE EVERY CONNECTION MADE AT HOGLE ZOO SPARKS A RIPPLE OF COMPASSION AND ACTION. TOGETHER, LET US CREATE A FUTURE WHERE PEOPLE AND ANIMALS THRIVE SIDE BY SIDE, UNITED BY A SHARED LOVE FOR OUR PLANET AND ALL ITS INHABITANTS.
