ROUTINE WORK COMPLETED IN 2020:AS USUAL THE CANAL COMPANY HAS BEEN BUSY DURING 2020. THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC THAT STARTED IN MARCH THREW A FEW CURVE BALLS FOR GETTING THE SYSTEM READY FOR 2020, BUT PROJECTS TO REBUILD THE CANAL AROUND THE PROVIDENCE CITY EXCHANGE PUMP WERE COMPLETED AND A NUMBER OF CLEANUPS OCCURRED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIVER. SEVERAL OTHER PROJECTS WERE POSTPONED AND WILL NEED ATTENTION BEFORE THE NEXT SEASON IN 2021. WITH DEVELOPMENT OF CITY OF MILLVILLES SEWER PROJECT, THE CANAL COMPANY IS WORKING WITH THE ENGINEERS TO PLAN FOR THE CROSSING OF THE CANALS AND WHERE PROPERTY HOOKUPS IMPACT THE CANAL. WATERMASTER BRIAN HAIR AGAIN DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB THIS YEAR. IN ADDITION TO THE ROUTINE WORK, HIS RESPONSE TO THE HURRICANE IN EARLY SEPTEMBER WAS OUTSTANDING.THE CANAL COMPANY HAS A NEW SECRETARY AND SHE WILL BE ON SALARY 12 MONTHS OF THE YEAR TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS. WENDY WILKER WILL BE WORKING ON TRAINING HER AND HELPING COORDINATE WITH OUR ACCOUNTING FIRM.
