THE AMERICAN LEGION WAS CHARTERED BY CONGRESS IN 1919 AS A PATRIOTIC VETERANS ORGANIZATION. FOCUSING ON SERVICE TO VETERANS, SERVICEMEMBERS AND COMMUNITIES, THE LEGION INFLUENCES SOCIAL CHANGE IN AMERICA, WINS BENEFITS FOR VETERANS, AND PRODUCES PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH. THE POST PROVIDES RECREATIONAL AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AS WELL AS OPPORTUNITIES FOR VETERANS TO VOLUNTEER IN THE COMMUNITY. THE POST MAINTAINS MEMORIALS AND MONUMENTS THAT HONOR MILITARY SACRIFICE. MEMBERS HAVE ACCESS TO BENEFITS ASSISTANCE, CAREER ASSISTANCE, EDUCATION ASSISTANCE, AND ADVICE REGARDING FINANCIAL SERVICES.
