THE MERCY MISSION HOUSE (MMH) EMERGENCY SHELTER, LOCATED JUST SOUTH OF DOWNTOWN SIDNEY, IS A CHARITABLE FOUNDATION DEDICATED TO HELPING THOSE IN NEED. MMH WILL PROVIDE OVERNIGHT AND SHORT-TERM EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR AREA RESIDENTS. CLIENTS WILL BE CONNECTED WITH AGENCIES TO HELP THEM RECEIVE PERMANENT HOUSING, COUNSELING, JOB PLACEMENTS, AND FOOD/MEAL ASSISTANCE, AMONG OTHER SERVICES.

THE MERCY MISSION HOUSE EMERGENCY SHELTER HAS WORKED HARD TO OPEN QUICKLY IN ORDER TO MEET THE UNMET NEED OF SHELTER IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE BEGAN OUR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN IN JANUARY 2021 AND ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE WE OPENED OUR DOORS AS A TEMPORARY WARMING CENTER IN JANUARY 2022 AND FULLY OPENING OUR DOORS IN FEBRUARY 2022. WE HAVE BEEN PUSHING THE LIMITS AND TIMELINES IN ORDER TO BEGIN HELPING OUR CLIENTS AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. WE RECEIVED OUR OFFICIAL 501C3 DESIGNATION IN OCTOBER 2021. DUE TO THE TIMING, WE WERE UNABLE TO APPLY FOR NEEDED FEDERAL GRANTS FOR OPERATIONAL EXPENSES.
