COHORT SISTAS IS DEDICATED TO ADVANCING GENDER AND RACIAL EQUITY IN DOCTORAL EDUCATION. OUR MISSION IS TO FOSTER INCLUSIVE PATHWAYS TO ADVANCED RESEARCH DOCTORATES BY ENHANCING THE RECRUITMENT, RETENTION, SUCCESS, AND WELL-BEING OF BLACK WOMEN AND OTHER HISTORICALLY MARGINALIZED SCHOLARS. SINCE 2020, COHORT SISTAS HAS PROVIDED DIGITAL RESOURCES, PERSONALIZED MENTORSHIP, AND A SUPPORTIVE NETWORK TO DOCTORAL STUDENTS, APPLICANTS, AND DEGREE HOLDERS, HELPING THEM NAVIGATE ACADEMIA, BUILD MEANINGFUL CAREERS, AND INCREASE THEIR ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES.

COHORT SISTAS COMMUNITY/MOBILE APP: OUR COMMUNITY PLATFORM AND MOBILE APP IS A SAFE AND WELCOMING SPACE FOR BLACK WOMEN AND NONBINARY SCHOLARS AND ALLIES TO NETWORK, COLLABORATE, AND PROVIDE MUTUAL ADVICE, SUPPORT, HEALING, AND ENCOURAGEMENT. ACROSS INSTITUTIONAL, DISCIPLINARY, AND GEOGRAPHIC SILOS.
SISTA CIRCLE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: THE SISTA CIRCLE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM PROVIDES SMALL-GROUP MENTORSHIP TO DOCTORAL STUDENTS AND APPLICANTS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR, BY MATCHING PARTICIPANTS WITH OTHER SCHOLARS IN RELATED ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES, AS WELL AS A MENTOR WITH A DOCTORATE IN A RELATED FIELD.
