PROTECTING HISTORIC PROPERTIES HISTORIC PRESERVATION (ARCHITECTURAL CONSERVATION)1. PERFORMED CONSERVATION WORK ON FOUNDATION OWNED PROPERTY AND COMPLETED PLUMBING UPGRADES, ADOBE PLASTER REPAIRS, WOODWORK REPAIRS AND EXTENSIVE PAINTING AT EL ZAGUN, 545 CANYON ROAD.2. CONTINUED IMPLEMENTATION OF EL ZAGUN MASTER PLAN IN PHASED AND BUDGETED STEPS, INCLUDING CONTRACTING FOR THE INSTALLATION OF NEW BRICK SIDEWALK/WALKWAY AND REVIVAL OF HISTORIC ACEQUIA INTO AN INTERPRETIVE WATER FEATURE.3. FURTHER REVISION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF MASTER PLAN FOR THE GARDEN AND OUTDOOR SPACES WITH VOLUNTEER GARDENERS AT THE GARDEN AT EL ZAGUN, 545 CANYON ROAD AND CONTINUED ENGAGEMENT WITH LINDA CHURCHILL AS GARDENER FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE GARDEN ONGOING.4. RESEARCH AND EDUCATION1. SOME IN-PERSON PROGRAM AND MISSION ACTIVITIES WERE DISCONTINUED OR DELAYED ASSOCIATED WITH THE COVID HEALTH CRISIS.2. THE MONTHLY MEMBER LECTURE SERIES WITH CONTINUED TEN ONLINE SALONS VIA ZOOM INCLUDING LECTURES ON JAPANESE INTERNMENT, CATTLE MUTILATION, CIVIL WAR IN NEW MEXICO, THE SANTA FE TRAIL, AND SEGREGATED SCHOOLS IN NEW MEXICO.3. PRESENTED ALONG WITH THE CITY OF SANTA FE HISTORIC PRESERVATION DIVISION AND THE OLD SANTA FE ASSOCIATION THE HERITAGE PRESERVATION AWARDS IN MAY 2021. PRODUCED AN ADVERTISEMENT WITH LOCAL PAPER FOR THE AWARDS. WELCOMED HSFFS AWARD WINNER IN A SMALL CEREMONY IN OUR GARDEN AS PART OF THE ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY AND MEMBERS MEETING IN SEPTEMBER.4. PRESENTED THE ARCHITECTURAL STEWARDSHIP AWARD IN 2021 TO THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOR THE RESTORATION OF THE NPS BUILDING ON OLD SANTA FE TRAIL, SANTA FE.5. HELD MONTHLY ART AND HISTORY EXHIBITIONS AT THE GALLERY AND ONLINE, FOR EL ZAGUN RESIDENT ARTISTS AND INVITED OUTSIDE ARTISTS. ONE EXHIBITION WAS A FOUNDATION STAFF SHOW INCLUDING TWO PARTNERSHIP EXHIBITIONS WITH THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE ON THE OCCASION OF THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE SANTA FE TRAIL, AND ONE WITH SEARCHLIGHT NEW MEXICO OF DON USNERS PANDEMIC DOCUMENTARY PROJECT.6. SELECTED FORMER MEEM INTERN FLYNN LARSON TO WRITE PROPERTY NOMINATIONS FOR FOUR PROPERTIES TO BE ADDED TO THE HISTORIC SANTA FE FOUNDATION REGISTER OF PROPERTIES WORTHY OF PRESERVATION, TO BE COMPLETED IN 2022. 7. APPROVED AND ADDED THE LISTING OF THE GRILL-LUCERO HOUSE, A DOWNTOWN SANTA FE BUNGALOW, TO THE REGISTER OF PROPERTIES WORTHY OF PRESERVATION.8.
