OPERATE A THRIFT STORE TO 'RECYCLE' DONATED CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND FURNITURE. COSTS AND PRICES FOR MERCHANDISE WILL REMAIN LOW THROUGH LOWER WAGES OF STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, LOW RENT OR OVERHEAD AND COST-SAVINGS MEASURES. MILLIE'S THRIFT STORES' INCOME WILL ENABLE MILLIE'S TO CONTINUE SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY BY HELPING HOMELESS CLIENTS HAVE THE HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND FURNITURE WHEN THEY ARE READY FOR AN APARTMENT, ENABLE A FAMILY TO CLOTHE THEIR CHILDREN, PROVIDE INTERVIEW OR WORK CLOTHING AND HELP SENIORS WITH NECESSITIES. A VOUCHER PROGRAM WILL ENABLE NONPROFITS TO SEND THEIR CLIENTS TO THE STORE. MILLIE'S WILL USE THE SAVINGS TO HELP THOSE IN NEED SUCH AS TEACHERS, JOB TRAINING AND CLIENTS OF NONPROFITS.

OPERATION OF MILLIE'S THRIFT STORES: IN MARCH 2021 HAD THE GRAND OPENING OF SECOND STORE WHICH HAS BEEN COMPLETELY RENOVATED. THE BUILDING WAS DEEDED TO MILLIE'S MISSION UPON THE DEATH OF THE BUILDING OWNER. NEW VOLUNTEERS CAME FROM THE GOODWILL SENIOR PROGRAM AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS. PAID STAFFING INCLUDED THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND GENERAL MANAGER. THREE PART TIME WORKERS WERE HIRED IN 2021. IRS NONPROFIT STATUS WAS APPROVED IN 2021.
