THROUGH 2022, WE HAVE BEEN EXPANDING OUR WORK TO SUPPORT HEALTHY FOOD IN EAST BROOKLYN FROM BIPOC FARMERS. WE ESTABLISHED NEW AND CONTINUED COLLABORATION WITH OUR DIVERSE PARTNERS. WE DEVELOPED BUILDING PLAN FOR THE BLACK RADISH GROCERY & FOOD HUB TO BE LOCATED AT CHESTNUT COMMONS IN CYPRESS HILLS. WE MADE 537 UNIQUE DELIVERIES TO 93 SENIOR HOUSEHOLDS AFFILIATED WITH CHRISTIAN CULTURAL CENTER. WE PROVIDED FRESH PRODUCE AND GROCERIES FOR 250 HOUSEHOLDS FOR GRANDPARENTS DAY AT DORAL HEALTH AND FITNESS. WE COLLECTED AND DONATED SURPLUS GREEN PRODUCE (APPROXIMATELY 60-80LBS. PER WEEK) FROM TEENS FOR JUSTICE. WE SUPPORTED BIPOC FARMS, BLACK YARD FARM AND TRINITY FARM. SUPPORT INCLUDED FARM FIELD TRIPS FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO LEARN ABOUT FARM OPERATIONS & GAIN HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE. WE ALSO MADE BI-MONTHLY DELIVERIES OF FRESH PRODUCE FROM TRINITY FARM TO EAST NEW YORK. EBMA SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY IN CRISIS. WE PROVIDED 3 MEALS PER DAY FOR TWO WEEKS DURING THE HERKIMER BUILDING ELECTRICITY OUTAGE. WE HELPED BLACK YARD FARM MOVE AND FIND NEW FURNITURE. WE AVOIDED FOOD WASTE AT FARM FRESH CARIBBEAN GROWERS BY BUYING TWO BUSHELS OF CALLALOO AND DISTRIBUTING IT THROUGH OUR NETWORK. OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, KELVIN TAITT, WAS RECOGNIZED AS APART OF THE 2022 CLASS OF 40 UNDER 40: THE RISING STARS IN NYC FOOD POLICY.
