MAGIC LUSCIOUS SPIRIT SOUNDS MUSIC CLUB IS A BIWEEKLY DISABILITY COMMUNITY-LED SPACE FOR FOLKS OF ALL ABILITIES WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT MUSIC AND CONNECTION. THE GROUP BELIEVES THAT MUSIC IS OUR POWER. EACH MEETING ALLOWS FOLKS SPACE TO EXPLORE AND SHARE THE MUSIC THEY ARE CREATING, SONGS THEYRE WRITING, OR A TUNE THAT THEY CANNOT STOP LISTENING TO! BOTH EXPERIENCED PERFORMERS AND MUSICIANS AND THOSE WHO JUST ENJOY A GOOD BEAT ARE WELCOME IN THIS SPACE CENTERED AROUND SUPPORTING EACH OTHER AND EXPLORING SOUNDS.
MOTH DREAMS ART COLLECTIVE IS A SELF-PUBLISHED ART AND WRITING MAGAZINE-MAKING GROUP CELEBRATING DISABILITY BEAUTY AND PRIDE. MOTH DREAMERS MEET BIWEEKLY TO SHARE WHAT THEY ARE CREATING AND EXPLORE BEAUTIFUL EXPRESSIONS OF DISABILITY IN THE ARTS. THE GROUP ALSO WORKS TOGETHER TO PREPARE AND PUBLISH A YEARLY ZINE.
DECS PROJECT AMPLIFY IS A LOW-BARRIER OPPORTUNITIES FUND FOR DISABLED FOLKS IN OUR SERVICE AREA TO HELP MEET THEIR ACCESS NEEDS AND TO SUPPORT ARTS AND WELLNESS OPPORTUNITIES IN THE COMMUNITY. THIS PROGRAMS FOCUS IS ON BIPOC AND QUEER DISABLED FOLKS. DEC HAS FUNDED THE WEBSITE START-UP COSTS FOR A LOCAL BLACK, DISABLED ARTIST/POET TO BRING BETTER VISIBILTY TO THEIR INCREDIBLE WORK AND MARKET THEIR ONLINE STORE, FUNDED TECHNICAL SOFTWARE FOR A DISABLED PODCASTER OF COLOR TO BE ABLE TO START CULTVATING A PODCAST SERIES, HELPED A BUDDING ARTIST CURATE A PUBLIC SHOW, AND CREATED A MUSIC ALBUM WITH AN UP-AND-COMING, DISABLED SINGER-SONGWRITER.
