AFGHANS EMPOWERED IS A COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION THAT SEEKS TO EMPOWER THE FUTURE GENERATIONS OF AFGHANS WORLDWIDE. WE WANT TO CONNECT AFGHANS AROUND THE WORLD WITH RESOURCES AVAILABLE IN THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES, AND PROVIDE OUTREACH FOR ASSISTANCE, AS WELL AS REPRESENTATION. WE WILL PROVIDE INFORMATION FOR NON PROFIT AND INTERNATIONAL GOVERNMENT PLATFORMS FOR AID AND SUPPORT, FOR THOSE FACING HUMANITARIAN CRISES, AS WELL AS SUPPORT FOR UNDERREPRESENTED MINORITY POPULATIONS OF AFGHAN NATIONALS OUTSIDE THE MOTHERLAND.

THROUGH OUR SCHOOLS, WE SUPPORTED THE GRADUATION OF OVER 150 AFGHAN GIRLS AT THE END OF THE 2022 SCHOOL YEAR, WHO COMPLETED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION AND RECEIVED ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATE ACHIEVEMENT FOR THEIR COMPLETION OF OUR RIGOROUS STEM AND COMPUTER CODING PROGRAMS.
IN ATHENS, GREECE WE EXPANDED THE CAPACITY FOR OUR COMMUNITY CENTER TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL CLASSES (GREEK, ENGLISH, AND DIGITAL LITERACY) , OUR PSYCHOSOCIAL SERVICES, FOOD PANTRY TO FEED HOMELESS AFGHANS, AND ASYLUM SERVICES. IN 2021, WE MADE THE FOLLOWING IMPACT TO OUR AFGHAN COMMUNITY MEMBERS: 250 WERE PROVIDED LEGAL SERVICES 110 STUDENTS COMPLETED ONE SEMESTER OF LANGUAGE CLASSES 157 PEOPLE RECEIVED VISION CARE 40 PEOPLE WERE CONNECTED WITH EMPLOYMENT 500 ADDITIONAL PEOPLE WERE REFERRED TO PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS FOR SERVICES OUTSIDE OUR CENTER
WE PROVIDED ESSENTIAL HUMANITARIAN AID TO FAMILIES DISPLACED BY WAR AND FACING EXTREME POVERTY. OUR FOOD PACKAGE PROGRAM PROVIDED NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO AFGHAN FAMILIES INTERNALLY DISPLACED IN AFGHANISTAN, AND TURKEY. WE IDENTIFIED THE NEEDIEST FAMILIES, AND PROVIDED EACH FAMILY WITH 2 MONTHS WORTH OF NON PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS.
