HELIX ILLINOIS NFP IS ORGANIZED AND OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH ?501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986 (OR THE CORRESPONDING PROVISION OF ANY FUTURE UNITED STATE INTERNAL REVENUE LAW AND REFERRED TO BELOW AS THE ?CODE?). ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMMING FURTHERING THOSE PURPOSES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, OPERATING A EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION LABS THAT TEACH JOB SKILLS TO YOUTH EXPERIENCING MARGINALIZATION, PROVIDING ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION TO THE PUBLIC, AND DEVELOPING AND DISTRIBUTING A SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CURRICULUM. THE CORPORATION WILL NOT OPERATE A SCHOOL OR SIMILAR INSTITUTION REGULATED BY THE ILLINOIS STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION.

IN 2021 HELIX WORKED WITH K-12 STUDENTS IN A FEW DIFFERENT PROGRAMS. WE HOSTED SEVERAL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS ACROSS THE COMMUNITY FOR CHICAGO AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. WE ALSO WORKED WITH VARIOUS CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO COME IN AND TEACH WHOLE CLASSES OF STUDENTS WHILE ALSO PROVIDING WORKSHOPS TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS ACROSS THE CITY. WE CONTINUED TO OPERATE OUR CAFE, WHICH IS A WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF THE NOT FOR PROFIT. WE ALSO PROVIDE CURRICULUM AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO A FEW SCHOOLS IN 2021 TO HELP THEM MEET THEIR GOALS OF PROVIDING 21ST CENTURY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT TO THEIR STUDENTS. THIS INCLUDED WRITING LESSON PLANS AND TRAINING TEACHERS ON HOW TO DELIVER THE LESSONS.
