--SEE SCHEDULE O--CHERRY HILLS CHRISTIAN SCHOOL (CHC) IS COMMITTED TO EDUCATING THE WHOLE CHILD: ACADEMICALLY, SPIRITUALLY, RELATIONALLY, PHYSICALLY, AND EMOTIONALLY. CHC SERVES CHILDREN IN PRESCHOOL THROUGH 8TH GRADE AND SHARES A BUILDING WITH CHERRY HILLS COMMUNITY CHURCH OCCUPYING A BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS ON 66 ACRES IN THE HEART OF HIGHLANDS RANCH, A SOUTHERN SUBURB OF DENVER, COLORADO.OUR PRESCHOOL IS WHERE CHILDREN AGES 2-5 ENGAGE THROUGH FUN, HANDS-ON AND GROUP ACTIVITIES THAT HELP LAY A SPIRITUAL AND ACADEMIC FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS IN LEARNING AT CHC AND BEYOND, WHILE ALSO NAVIGATING THE CHALLENGES OF CHILDHOOD.OUR LOWER SCHOOL EXCEEDS COLORADO STATE STANDARDS AND HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS AN APPLE DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL FOR INNOVATIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING. OUR UPPER SCHOOL STUDENTS IN GRADES 6-8 ARE WELL PREPARED FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL OF THEIR CHOICE. OUR RIGOROUS CURRICULUM EXCEEDING COLORADO STATE STANDARDS CHALLENGES THEM TO RECOGNIZE THE VALUE OF DIFFICULT ASSIGNMENTS, PRACTICE AT HOME, INDEPENDENT RESEARCH, AND SELFLESSNESS THROUGH ACTS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE.EVERY STUDENT IN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE 8 RECEIVES INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION FROM THEIR TEACHERS, WHO ARE ADEPT AT CUSTOMIZING LEARNING APPROACHES AND LESSON PLANS. CHC ALSO MEETS ALL STUDENTS' UNIQUE LEARNING NEEDS BY PROVIDING A DEDICATED WIN (WHAT I NEED) PERIOD FOR INDIVIDUAL STUDY AND SUPPORT.CHC MAKES LEARNING FUN AND ENGAGING ALL YEAR. OUR SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM IS OPTIONAL, BUT IS A GREAT OPTION INCLUDED WITH THE COST OF TUITION FOR KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE 8 STUDENTS. THIS SPECIAL PROGRAM, CREATED BY CHC FACULTY MEMBERS, IS SEAMLESSLY ALIGNED WITH OUR CURRICULUM TO HELP ENSURE STUDENTS' ACADEMIC PREPAREDNESS AND GRADE-LEVEL READINESS WHEN THEY BEGIN THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR. SUMMER LEARNING ALSO ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO PURSUE THEIR SPECIAL INTERESTS, AND IT PROVIDES THEM WITH SOME STRUCTURE THEY AND THEIR PARENTS OFTEN APPRECIATE. TO COMPLETE OUR SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM COURSES, RETURNING STUDENTS CAN ACCESS THEIR NEXT YEAR'S "RISING COURSE" IN CANVAS FOR ANYTIME, ANYWHERE ACCESS TO INSTRUCTION AND ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES FOCUSED PRIMARILY ON LITERACY AND MATH. IN ADDITION, OUR PRESCHOOL PROGRAM OFFERS A FEE-BASED SUMMER PROGRAM FOR AGES 3 THROUGH CHILDREN ENTERING 1ST GRADE INCLUDING THEMED PLAY AND SNACK TIME.CHC OFFERS STUDENTS IN PRESCHOOL THROUGH GRADE 8 A QUALITY, AFFORDABLE SCHOOL-AGE CARE PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES A HEALTHY AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT WHERE STUDENTS CAN LEARN; TAKE PART IN SUPERVISED RECREATION; AND BUILD STRONG, POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH TEACHERS AND THEIR PEERS THAT HONOR CHRIST WITH THEIR CONDUCT. OUR PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO MEET OUR FAMILIES' SCHEDULING NEEDS AND TO PROVIDE THEM THE PEACE OF MIND IN KNOWING THAT THEIR STUDENTS ARE ENGAGED IN CONSTRUCTIVE ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES PROMOTING PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE, CREATIVE EXPRESSION, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, INDOOR/OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL GAMES, MUSIC APPRECIATION, DRAMATIC PLAY, FITNESS, COMMUNICATION SKILLS, BUILDING AND ENGINEERING, AND THE APPRECIATION OF DIVERSITY. ADDITIONALLY, THESE PROGRAMS OFFER A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE LIFE SKILLS, SUCH AS TEAMWORK, PROBLEM SOLVING, LEADERSHIP, SPORTSMANSHIP, AND CREATIVITY. PROGRAMS ARE FEE-BASED AND SELF-SUPPORTING. THEY ARE GOVERNED AND REGULATED BY THE PRESCHOOL AND BY THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, DIVISION OF EARLY CARE AND LEARNING. THESE PROGRAMS RECEIVE ANNUAL INSPECTIONS OF LICENSING, HEALTH, AND FIRE SAFETY, AND ARE SUBJECT TO ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL AND STATE LAWS AND REGULATIONS AS WELL AS CHC POLICIES. ALL STAFF ARE PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED IN EMERGENCY PROCEDURES. CHC OFFERS REMOTE LEARNING. CHC IS PROUD TO OFFER SHORT TERM REMOTE LEARNING FOR STUDENTS WHO MAY HAVE AN EXTENDED ABSENCE DUE TO SEVERE MEDICAL NEEDS OR FAMILY EMERGENCIES. REMOTE LEARNING SITUATIONS MUST RECEIVE PRIOR APPROVAL IN ADVANCE BY THE DIRECTOR OF LOWER SCHOOL OR THE DIRECTOR OF UPPER SCHOOL. IF APPROVED, THE CHILD'S TEACHER AND THE INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR WILL WORK WITH YOUR STUDENT TO PROVIDE ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING VIA CANVAS, CHC'S LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
