CENTER - THE CENTER REPRESENTS A PHYSICAL LOCATION WHERE WE HAVE GAMES AND ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO HAVE FUN IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT. THIS PAST YEAR WE INVESTED HEAVILY IN THE BUILDING OUT OF THIS SPACE. WE SERVE MEALS HERE TO THE INDIVIDUALS THAT COME OUT TO THE PROGRAM KNOWING THAT THIS MIGHT BE THEIR ONLY MEAL THAT DAY.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH - WE REGULARLY REACH OUT TO THE COMMUNITY WITH VARIOUS EVENTS AND OUTREACH EFFORTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND LOOKING FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO REACH THEM THIS MAY INCLUDE SPORTING ACTIVITIES AND LEAGUES IN AN EFFORT TO DRAW OUT YOUNG PEOPLE AND TO PROVIDE US WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO INVEST AND SPEND TIME WITH THEM.
UP AND OUT - THIS PROGRAM HELPS TO TRANSITION YOUNG ADULTS AND OFTEN FIRST GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENTS INTO ADULTHOOD. ASSISTANCE MAY COME IN THE FORM OF MENTORING TUTORING WORKING OUT FINANCES HELPING TO FIND EMPLOYMENT RUNNING TRAINING PROGRAMS AND ON A DISCRETIONARY BASIS MEETING SOME OF THEIR FINANCIAL NEEDS. THE PROGRAM NAME IS INDICATIVE OF THE DIRECTION WE HOPE THESE INDIVIDUALS THAT WE WOULD HELP GIVE THEM A LEG UP SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE OUT IT OUT THERE ON THEIR OWN.
GWCA - THIS PROGRAM HAS ENABLED US TO REACH THE INNER CITY YOUTH OF YORK CITY AND BY EXTENSION THEIR MOTHERS AND FAMILIES. WE HAVE SEEN THIS BECOME ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS OF REACHING FAMILIES IN YORK CITY. THESE KIDS COME FROM HOMES WHERE THE PARENTS MAY BE IN A GANG OR HOMELESS OR OTHER INTENSE SITUATIONS. WE OFFER A FULL TIME K-12 CHRISTIAN DAY SCHOOL AND IN ORDER TO KEEP THINGS OPERATIONAL THE STAFF AND TEACHERS ARE NOT PAID. WE CURRENTLY HAD ABOUT 10 STUDENTS IN THE SCHOOL THIS PAST YEAR. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM WE ARE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN RAISING THE EDUCATION LEVEL OF THE STUDENTS WE INVEST IN. THROUGH THE STUDENTS WE ARE REACHING THE FAMILIES AND HELPING THEM TO MAKE GOOD SPIRITUAL DECISIONS FOR THEIR FAMILIES AND HELP TO ESTABLISH STABLE ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE KIDS.
