THE VIRGINIA BEACH STUDENT LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED WITH THE PLEDGING OF FUNDS FROM OVER 40 FOUNDERS CIRCLE MEMBERS. A FUND-RAISING COMMITTEE HAS BEEN SET UP TO SOLICIT DONATIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS WHO MAY HAVE BENEFITTED FROM VIRGINIA BEACH LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS IN THE PAST AS WELL AS FROM CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS. A SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO SELECT VIRGINIA BEACH HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THE WORKSHOP PROGRAMS IN THE PAST. THE FOUNDATION HAS COMMUNICATED ITS INTENT TO PROVIDE SUBSIDIES OR GRANTS TO VIRGINIA BEACH HIGH AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS TO HELP FUND LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS AT THESE SCHOOLS REACHING OVER A THOUSAND STUDENTS PER YEAR.
