THE MINING MUSEUM HELD OUR GALA FUNDRAISER EVENT AND GOT TO HONOR MINERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. NEW BOARD MEMBERS HAVE JOINED OUR GROUP AND WE HAVE ELECTED NEW OFFICERS. WE HAVE SET UP BOOTHS AT CONFERENCES PROMOTING THE MUSEUM AND WE STARTED A SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES INTERESTED IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH. WE ARE WORKING WITH THE SCHOOLS AND PEABODY COAL TO HOST STEM CARNIVALS AND THIS WILL KICK OFF IN 2022. WE CONTINUE TO BOOK FIELD TRIPS FROM LOCAL SCHOOLS AND SCHOOLS FROM OTHER AREAS IN THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO. THE MUSEUM HAS VISITORS FROM MANY COMMUNITIES WE TRACK THIS AND REPORT TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT WE CONTINUE CONTRIBUTE TO OUR COMMUNITY. WE DONATED TO FOOD DRIVES, AND COATS FOR KIDS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES DURING OUR WINTER MONTHS THROUGH THE HAUNTED MINE HALLOWEEN FUNDRAISER. WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE CERTIFICATES TO FAMILY MEMBERS OF MINERS WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY AND WE MAINTAIN A MINERS REGISTRY.
