STEAM PROGRAM - THE STEAM PROGRAM IS AN EDUCATIONAL APPROACH TO LEARNING THAT USES SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS AND MATHEMATICS AS ACCESS POINTS FOR GUIDING STUDENT INQUIRY, DIALOGUE, AND CRITICAL THINKING. THE FOUNDATION HAS 3 STRATEGIC PILLARS FOR PROGRAMMING TO INCLUDE WORKFORCE READINESS; CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS; AND COMMUNITY BUILDING. 2021 ACTIVITIES INCLUDED: 1. WORKFORCE READINESS: * STEAM I: "HAMILTON" DALLAS SUMMER MUSICALS - 3,000 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED, 36 TEACHING ARTISTS, 18 DISD TEACHERS ACROSS 60 CLASSROOMS. * STEAM II: VIRTUAL STEAM CAMP - APPROXIMATELY 3,000 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED * STEAM III: GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY ROUNDTABLE WITH KONZA TECHNOPOLIS IN NAIROBI, KENYA (APPROXIMATELY 150 PARTICIPANTS) 2. CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS: DALLAS MAVERICKS, AT&T, JACOBS ENGINEERING, GOLDMAN SACHS, WALTON FAMILY FOUNDATION, TONY ROBBINS FOUNDATION, STATE FARM 3. COMMUNITY BUILDING: THE WILKINSON CENTER, TORI, AND COMMUNITY COUNCIL OF DALLAS.
PATHWAY PROGRAM - THE PATHWAY PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN 2021 BROUGHT TOGETHER WORKFORCE READINESS AND COMMUNITY BUILDING PROGRAMS, CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIAL SERVICES SUBJECT-MATTER EXPERTS, INTO A SINGULAR ENVIRONMENT. THROUGH THE PATHWAY PROGRAM, UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES HAVE ACCESS TO HOLISTIC LIFECYCLE PROGRAMS, INCLUDING WORKFORCE READINESS TRAINING IN AREAS LIKE CYBERSECURITY, NURSING, ACCOUNTING AND RADIOLOGY; AND COMMUNITY BUILDING (WRAPAROUND SERVICES) TO SUSTAIN THE FAMILY FINANCIALLY. THIS AGGREGATION AND INTEGRATION OF SOCIAL SERVICES WITHIN THE PATHWAY PROGRAM PROVIDED A CLEAR AND MEASURABLE PATH FOR INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR HOUSEHOLDS TO ACHIEVE ECONOMIC MOBILITY. THE PATHWAY PROGRAM STARTS WITH THE INDIVIDUAL AND ULTIMATELY SERVES THE WHOLE HOUSEHOLD. THE PATHWAY PROGRAM WAS LAUNCHED WITH A HIRING EXPO ON AUGUST 17, 2021 WITH 1,400 PARTICIPANTS AND 2 CORPORATIONS (UT SOUTHWEST AND TBK BANK) AND THE PATHWAY APP IS CURRENTLY BEING EXPANDED TO MEET CAPACITY.
