SCHOOL EDUCATION PROGRAMS. AS A SCHOOL, WE ARE COMMITTED TO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION. OUR COMMITMENT IS EMPOWERMENT AND AGENCY FOR STUDENTS, INCLUDING STUDENTS THAT ARE COMING FROM UNDERREPRESENTED AND UNDERSERVED BACKGROUNDS. WE OFFER SLIDING-SCALE TUITION TO OUR FAMILIES, AND 43% OF OUR STUDENTS RECEIVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE SCHOOL. 40% OF OUR STUDENT BODY ARE STUDENTS OF COLOR; OVER 40% OF OUR STUDENTS ALSO HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS, INCLUDING STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD), AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD), SPEECH AND ARTICULATION ISSUES, AND DYSLEXIA.THE SPRINGWELL EDUCATION PROGRAM CULTIVATES STUDENT AGENCY WITHIN A COMMUNITY LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THROUGH EMERGENT, HANDS-ON, PROJECT-BASED LEARNING. AFTER SCHOOL CARE. WE PROVIDE AFTER-SCHOOL CARE FROM 3:30 PM TO 5:30 PM
SUMMER CAMP.THROUGH OUR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM, WE IMMERSE OUR CAMPERS IN HANDS-ON, ARTS-INTEGRATED ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS AND EXPOSURE TO DIVERSE CULTURES. WE HOSTED A SPANISH AND ARTS CAMP, WHICH PROVIDED 50/50 IMMERSION IN THE SPANISH LANGUAGE, AND OFFERED OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS TO DEVELOP THEIR CREATIVE POTENTIAL THROUGH ART PROJECTS. IN OUR PASSION FOR RHYTHM CAMP, CAMPERS EXPLORED SOUNDS, INSTRUMENTS, RHYTHMS, AND SONGS FROM THE AFRICAN DIASPORA, WITH LOCAL ARTIST THE DRUM LADY, KRISTEN ARANT. FINALLY, WE OFFERED A THEATRE-BASED LITERACY PROGRAM, WHICH CULTIVATED A LOVE OF LITERACY THROUGH THE ARTS. CAMPERS CREATED THEIR OWN SCRIPTS, DESIGNED THEIR OWN SETS, AND PERFORMED A FINAL PIECE AT THE END OF CAMP. EACH SUMMER CAMP INCLUDED ARTS-INTEGRATED, HANDS-ON LEARNING, AND EXPOSURE TO DIVERSE CULTURES.
