IN 2021 CROSSTOWN RADIO PARTNERSHIP OPERATED ITS FCC-LICENSED, NONCOMMERCIAL FM RADIO STATION. THE STATION, WYXR, BROADCASTS A WIDE RANGE OF MUSICAL, CULTURAL, AND PUBLIC INTEREST PROGRAMMING, RANGING FROM TALK PROGRAMS FOCUSING ON HOW FAITH INFORMS OUR PERSPECTIVE AND UNITES PEOPLE FROM A VARIETY OF BACKGROUNDS TO DEEP MUSICAL DIVES INTO THE FORGOTTEN FIGURES OF MEMPHIS HIP-HOP, PUNK, BLUES, AND JAZZ HISTORY AND THEIR LASTING IMPACT ON THE AMERICAN MUSICAL LANDSCAPE. IN APRIL AND OCTOBER 2021, LISTENERS SHOWED OVERWHELMING SUPPORT BY BURSTING THROUGH THE FUNDRAISING GOAL OF OUR TWO PLEDGE DRIVES. WE EXCEEDED OUR FUNDRAISING GOALS BY AN OVERWHELMING RESPONSE OF LISTENER DONATIONS, MEMBERSHIP PLEDGES, AND SPONSORSHIP SUPPORT FROM LOCAL BUSINESSES. WE KICKED OFF OUR STEREO SESSIONS IN NOVEMBER 2021 WITH A DEEP DIVE INTO UNHERALDED MEMPHIS SONGWRITER AND PERFORMER THE LATE LOU BOND. WE LISTENED TO AND DISCUSSED THE RECORD WITH AN AUDIENCE. WE ALSO CONTINUED TO ADD MORE ON-AIR PROGRAMMING IN 2021. WE INCREASED THE NUMBER OF VOLUNTEER DJS FROM 60 TO AROUND 90.
