Part 3
TGQF CONTINUES TO PURSUE ITS MISSION OF MAKING GENERAL EDUCATION, LIBERAL EDUCATION FOR ALL COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS. DURING THIS PERIOD, TGQF WORKED WITH 17 FACULTY MEMBERS FROM OVER 15 COMMUNITY COLLEGES ON COURSE REDESIGN WORKSHOPS, IMPACTING OVER 1,300 STUDENTS. WE BEGAN A FACULTY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM, IN WHICH TEN EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE FACULTY LEADERS ARE WORKING TO TRANSFORM A GENERAL EDUCATION COURSE THEY TEACH AT THEIR INSTITUTION INTO A VIBRANT, DISCUSSION-BASED EXPLORATION OF TRANSFORMATIVE TEXTS AND IDEAS. IN THIS IMMERSIVE PROGRAM, FACULTY WILL CENTER THEIR COURSE REDESIGN ON DISCUSSION-BASED PEDAGOGY, BRINGING ANCIENT AND CLASSIC TEXTS INTO CONVERSATION WITH MODERN OR CONTEMPORARY WORKS. AT THE CONCLUSION OF THIS FELLOWSHIP, OUR GROUP HOPES TO PRESENT A VISION FOR HOW GENERAL EDUCATION CAN BECOME LIBERAL EDUCATION AT ALL COMMUNITY COLLEGES.
