SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION IS OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT AND COMMUNITY. IT IS A COMMUNITY OF PRIDE, MEMBERSHIP, ACTIVE PARTICIPATION, AND SUPPORT. SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION IS DEDICATED TO BOOST ACADEMIC AND EXTRACURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE TO SOUTHLAND STUDENTS. SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION, THROUGH FUNDRAISING AND DONATIONS, PROVIDES SUPPORT TO THE SOUTHLAND SCHOOLS' ACADEMICS, ARTS, ATHLETICS, AND SCHOOL SUPPORT PROGRAMS. GOLF TOURNAMENT: SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION HOSTS AN ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT EVERY SUMMER AT THE CEDAR RIVER GOLF COURSE IN ADAMS, MN. THE GOLF TOURNAMENT IS OPEN TO ANYONE TO PARTICIPATE, IN TEAMS OF 4 PEOPLE. MEMBERS OF THE SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION ARE IN CHARGE OF SETTING UP THE EVENT, ADVERTISING, ORGANIZING GAMES AND PRIZES, ETC. MEMBERS OF THE SOUTHLAND STUDENT BODY, OR THE FOOTBALL OR VOLLEYBALL TEAMS HAVE HELPED AT THE INDIVIDUAL HOLES TO RUN THE GAMES. SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION SPENDS ABOUT 2 MONTHS IN THE SUMMER PLANNING FOR THIS EVENT. THE EVENT IS FUNDED BY SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION WITH DONATIONS FROM COMMUNITY SPONSORS CONTRIBUTING TO THE EVENT FOR FOOD AND PRIZES. ANNUAL HOMECOMING BASH: IN THE FALL SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION HOSTS AN ANNUAL HOMECOMING BASH WHICH CONSISTS OF A MEAL AND A SILENT AUCTION. THE HOMECOMING BASH IS OPEN TO ANYONE TO PARTICIPATE AND MANY PEOPLE ARE INVOLVED IN THE PLANNING AND PREPARATION. MEMBERS OF THE SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION MAKE UP THE HEADS OF THE COMMITTEES FOR THE EVENT. WE HAVE A GROUP OF PARENTS, SOUTHLAND FACULTY AND SOUTHLAND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO ORGANIZE AND RUN THE SILENT AUCTION. MANY OF THE DUTIES NECESSARY ARE CALLING FOR DONATIONS FOR THE SILENT AUCTION FROM SOUTHLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT COMMUNITY BUSINESSES AND PRIVATE PARTIES. WE ALSO HAVE A GROUP OF PARENTS, SOUTHLAND FACULTY AND SOUTHLAND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO ORGANIZE AND RUN THE MEAL WHICH IS BEFORE THE HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME, AND ALSO AFTER THE GAME TO PROVIDE A MEAL FOR THE HOME FOOTBALL TEAM AND VISITING FOOTBALL TEAM AND FANS. THE FUNDING FOR THE HOMECOMING BASH IS FROM DONATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY FOR FOOD AND SILENT AUCTION, AND ALSO PAID FROM BY THE FUNDS IN THE SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION ACCOUNT. SPONSORSHIP DRIVE: SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION HOSTS AN ANNUAL SPONSORSHIP DRIVE WHICH CONSISTS OF BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS TO SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION. THOSE WHO SPONSOR ARE RECOGNIZED IN THE SCHOOL YEARBOOK AND ON BANNERS THAT ARE HUNG IN THE GYMNASIUM AND AUDITORIUM. CONCESSION STAND: SOUTHLAND REBEL NATION RUNS THE CONCESSION STAND FOR ALL EVENTS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. EVENTS INCLUDE ALL SPORTING EVENTS AND THE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES. PARENTS AND STUDENTS WORK AT THE CONCESSION STAND DURING THE EVENTS. THERE IS A CONCESSION STAND COORDINATOR WHO ORGANIZES THE CONCESSION STAND, PREPS THE FOOD, ORDERS THE FOOD AND CREATES A SCHEDULE OF WORKERS.
