FSO IS DEDICATED TO ENHANCING THE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES OF THE STUDENTS AT FARNSWORTH AEROSPACE PREK-8 MAGNET SCHOOL BY SUPPORTING ACADEMIC AND ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES THROUGH FINAICAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT.

THE AEROSPACE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PROMOTE SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING , AEROSPACE AND MATH FOR ALL STUDENTS, FAMILIES, STAFF AND SCHOOL COMMUNITY AEROSPACE PROGRAM INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED: EXTENDED DAY FIELD OBSERVATIONS, EDUCATIONAL CAMPS, AEROSPACE FAMILY NIGHTS AND SHOWCASING GUEST AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERT SPEAKERS. GUESTS AND SPEAKERS SERVE AS ROLE MODELS AND MENTORS FOR STUDENTS TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND BUILD RELATIONSHIPS. THE AEROSPACE PROGRAM SERVICED AND ESTIMATED 2900 PEOPLE. THIS YEAR DUE TO COVID SOME EVENTS WERE CANCELLED, HENCE LOWER EXPENSES THAN PREVIOUS YEARS.
THE ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE LEARNING, PARTICIPATION, ENHANCED KNOWLEDGE AND RECOGNIZE STUDENTS, STAFF, TEACHERS AND VOLUNTEER EFFORTS. FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE OPTIMAL ASSISTANCE TO RUN THESE PROGRAMS. SCHOOL WIDE ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 1ST GRADE APPLE PIE ENRICHMENT, 8TH GRADE EAGLES BLUFF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE ENRICHMENT, FUNDRAISERS, FAMILY NIGHTS, HISTORY DAY EVENT, PARENT INVOLVEMENT DAY, SCIENCE FAIRS, SPACE DAY, STAFF APPRECIATION, TRACK AND FIELD DAY, CLASSROOM T-SHIRTS AND WHERE EVERYONE BELONGS (WEB) STUDENT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM.
THE BAND PROGRAM PROVIDES STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN AND MASTER INSTRUMENTS WHILE WORKING AS A TEAM TO PRODUCE MUSICAL EXPERIENCES. THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT SERVES AN ESTIMATED 200 STUDENTS IN BEGINNING STRINGS, INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCE STRINGS, KEYBOARD, BEGINNING BAND, VARSITY BAND, CONCERT BAND AND MARCHING BAND. ALL BAND MEMBERS HAVE ANNUAL MUSIC PERFORMANCES. MARCHING BAND PERFORMS AT LOCAL COMMUNITY EVENTS, MAKING CONNECTIONS WITH THE GREATER COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEERS CHAPERON BAND EVENTS AND PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO THE BAND DIRECTOR AND MEMBERS AS NEEDED.
