OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO COMMUNITY, EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL RESOURCES, AND OPPORTUNITIES TO EQUIP YOUTH AND ADULTS FOR A SUCCESSFUL LIFE. ONE COMMUNITY ONE VOICE ALSO SERVES AS A CONDUIT FOR A BROAD RANGE OF COMMUNITY SERVICE PROVIDERS BY PROMOTING THEIR ACTIVITIES AND ENCOURAGING THE PARTICIPATION OF THE COMMUNITY AND THE SUPPORT OF OTHER COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS. WE BELIEVE THAT THE COMMUNITY IS BETTER WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER.

B.I.K.E. - BELIEVING IN KIDS EXCELLING IS A PROGRAM WHERE BIKES ARE AWARDED TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE SHOWN IMPROVEMENT IN ACADEMICS, BEHAVIOR, AND ATTENDANCE TO PROMOTE CITIZENSHIP IN THE LYNCHBURG CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. SIX ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM AND 96 BIKES ARE GIVEN AWAY TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ANNUALLY.
BACK TO SCHOOL - ONE COMMUNITY ONE VOICE IS ONE OF SEVERAL ORGANIZATIONS PARTNERING WITH THE LYNCHBURG CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND SHOES FOR LOW-INCOME CHILDREN GOING BACK TO SCHOOL. OCOV TYPICALLY PROVIDES 500 NEW BACKPACKS FULL OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND 800 PAIRS OF SHOES TO LOCAL CHILDREN EACH YEAR.487
E.N.O.U.G.H. (EMPOWERING NEIGHBORHOODS TO OVERCOME UNDESIRABLE BEHAVIOR GIVES US HOPE), IS A COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM THAT INVOLVES WEEKLY NEIGHBORHOOD CANVASSING AND OUTDOOR EVENTS IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS THECITY OF LYNCHBURG. THE PROGRAM IS A BIG PUSH TO LOWER CRIME AND ADDRESS COMMUNITY CONCERNS BY ENGAGING LAW ENFORCEMENT, LOCAL GOVERNMENT,ORGANIZATIONS, AND CITIZENS WITH FOOD, MUSIC, LAUGHTER, AND OPEN COMMUNICATION.
