TIFS PRIMARY VEHICLE FOR ACTUALIZING ITS PURPOSE WAS THE ORGANIZING AND HOSTING OF THE HOWDY MODI EVENT IN HOUSTON IN 2019. HOWDY MODI (SHORT FOR HOW DO YOU DO, MODI) WAS A COMMUNITY SUMMIT HOSTED BY TIF FOR THE INDIAN PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI, WHICH WAS ALSO ATTENDED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, DONALD TRUMP, ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2019 AT THE NRG STADIUM IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. THE EVENT FEATURED A GRAND CELEBRATION OF CULTURE AND UNITY OF AMERICA AND INDIA, WHERE ATTENDEES HEARD PRIME MINISTER MODI SPEAK ABOUT THE DEEPENING US-INDIA TIES STRENGTHENED BY THE CONFIRMATIONS OF ESTIMATED 3 MILLION INDIAN AMERICANS IN THE UNITED STATES. THE EVENT WAS ALSO A PLATFORM FOR PRIME MINISTER MODI TO LAY OUT HIS VISION FOR THE CONTINUOUS INDIAS GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. HOWDY MODI WAS ATTENDED BY AN ESTIMATED 50,000 OR MORE PEOPLE, INCLUDING A NUMBER OF US LEGISLATORS AND PROMINENT BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS FROM ACROSS THE UNITED STATES.
