DETROIT HISPANIC DEVELOPMENT CORP GAVE US $205,100 TO GIVE CASH TO FAMILIES DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC. WE HELPED 162 FAMILIES WITH THIS GRANT. THESE FAMILIES WERE ABLE TO USE THIS MONEY TO PAY PAST DUE BILLS RENT OR MORTGAGES. THE AMOUNTS WERE GIVEN ON A NEED BASIS SCALE DEVELOPED BY A COMMITTEE OF FIVE ORGANIZATIONS. $3,000 OF THIS GRANT WAS GIVEN TO THE ORGANIZATION TO GO TOWARDS OUR OPERATING EXPENSES SUCH AS OUR BUILDING EXPENSES AND MARKETING MATERIALS TO GET THE WORD OUR ABOUT THE PROGRAM.
WAYNE COUNTY GAVE US A $49,999 GRANT TO PROVIDE COVID-19 HELP TO FAMILIES. WE ENDED UP GIVING OUT CASH ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES IN THE AMOUNT OF $23K. WE ALSO USED MONEY TO PURCHASE AND DISTRIBUTE COVID-19 SUPPLIES TO FAMILIES IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,236.4. THE $19,762.6 WENT TOWARDS OUR OFFICE MAINTENANCE AND FIXTURES IN ORDER TO MAKE THINGS SAFE FOR FAMILIES TO PICK UP CASH AND OR SUPPLIES WHEN WE DID OUR GIVEAWAYS.
KRESGE FOUNDATION GAVE US $30,000 TO SUPPORT A TRANSITION OF YOUTH PROGRAMMING DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC. EACH OF THE YOUTH PARTICIPANTS WERE GIVEN A STIPEND OF $500 TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM. THERE WERE 52 YOUTH THAT PARTICIPATED ONLINE FOR THE PROGRAM THAT LASTED 8 WEEKS. THE OTHER $1,300 WAS USED ON PROGRAM SUPPLIES FOR THE PROGRAM. THE FINAL $2,700 WENT TOWARDS ADMINISTRATION COSTS FOR THE PROGRAM TO RUN SMOOTHLY.
