IN 2023, MILWAUKEE PARKS FOUNDATION CONTINUED ADVANCING OUR MISSION TO COLLECTIVELY STEWARD A THRIVING PARK SYSTEM. WE DID THIS THROUGH FOUR CORE PRIORITIES: EQUITABLE AMENITIES AND PROGRAMS, ADVOCATING FOR SUSTAINABLE FUNDING SOLUTIONS FOR OUR PARKS, BUILDING COMMUNITY CAPACITY AND RAISING AWARENESS, PROMOTING ACCESS AND FOSTERING BELONGING IN OUR PARKS. THREE OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE:SPROUTS PARTNERSHIPS: SPROUTS PARTNERSHIPS WERE ONE OF THE WAYS WE HELPED BUILD COMMUNITY CAPACITY FOR OUR PARKS. SPROUTS PARTNERS ARE GRASSROOTS LEADERS WHO ACTIVATE PARKS VIA UNIQUE PROGRAMMING AND EVENTS. EXAMPLES INCLUDE: DRUMS UP GUNS DOWN, AFRICAN DRUMMING AND DANCE; THE SAFE ZONE SUMMER CAMP FOR YOUTH; LATINO CONSERVATION WEEK, AND MORE.SEEDS PROJECTS: SEEDS PROJECTS ARE WAYS MILWAUKEE PARKS FOUNDATION INVESTS IN PARK INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS. EXAMPLES INCLUDE CARVER PARK BASEBALL DIAMOND REFURBISHMENT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CHRISTIAN YELICH, AND THE LAUNCH OF THE HEALTHY PARKS HEALTHY NEIGHBORS INITIATIVE TO IMPROVE AMENITIES AND PROGRAMS IN MCGOVERN PARK.
