IT IS THE MISSION OF THE GRAND HUTS ASSOCIATION (GHA) TO PROVIDE A BACKCOUNTRY RECREATIONAL HUT SYSTEM IN THE FORESTS OF GRAND COUNTY. GHA WILL WORK TO OPEN FOR PUBLIC USE CABINS ALREADY IN EXISTENCE ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE LANDS, AND TO BUILD NEW STRUCTURES WHERE APPROPRIATE. IN COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL AND FRONT RANGE GROUPS, GHA WILL PROVIDE FACILITIES TO EXPAND EXISTING OUTDOOR EDUCATION INTO A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM AND TO ASSIST IN MANAGING HUMAN IMPACTS ON THE ALPINE ENVIRONMENT.
