TO FOSTER HEALING, FUN, AND FRIENDSHIPS FOR FAMILIES FACING CHILDHOOD CANCER THROUGH AN EXCEPTIONAL CAMP EXPERIENCE. BOTH PATIENTS AND SIBLINGS CAN RECAPTURE THE SPONTANEITY OF BEING CHILDLIKE WHICH CANCER HAS STOLEN FROM THEM - AT NO CHARGE TO THEIR FAMILIES. WHILE CAMPERS ARE SAFE AND HAVING FUN, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS TAKE RESPITE WHICH IS AN INTEGRAL STEP IN CONTINUED MENTAL HEALING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.

WAPIYAPI PROMOTED CONTINUED MENTAL HEALING FOR PATIENTS AND SIBLINGS THROUGHOUT THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION STRUGGLING WITH A PEDIATRIC CANCER DIAGNOSIS. THROUGH OPPORTUNITIES TO BELONG AND EXCEL DURING ONSITE AND VIRTUAL CAMP EXPERIENCES, CAMPERS GREW IN CONFIDENCE AND FRIENDSHIP. THE ORGANIZATION SAFELY RETURNED ONSITE WITH TWO WEEK-LONG SESSIONS AND ZERO COVID DIAGNOSES. SUPPORTED BY THE MEDICAL STAFF, AS WELL AS COMPASSIONATE COUNSELORS, TRADITIONAL OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES RESUMED WITH NEW ACTIVITIES AS WELL. CAMPERS ENJOYED FUN, FRIENDS, AND HEALING WITH 100% OF FAMILIES SAYING CAMP WAPIYAPI HAD A POSITIVE IMPACT. STRONG FAMILY DYNAMICS WERE FOSTERED WITH 100% REPORTING THAT CAMP PROVIDED AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE FREE FROM THE WORRIES OF CANCER.
