PERPETUATING JAZZ MUSIC THROUGH THE PRESENTATION OF PERFORMANCES THAT SHOWCASE THE ARTISTRY AND TALENT OF GREAT JAZZ MUSICIANS AND THROUGH JAZZ EDUCATION WITH A SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON YOUNG MUSICIANS AND YOUNG AUDIENCES.

JAZZ EDUCATION BY THE PRESENTATION OF JAZZ PERFORMANCES BOTH LIVE AND ONLINE. APPROXIMATELY 8,000 PEOPLE WERE IN ATTENDANCE AT 26 SEPARATE PERFORMANCES TO SEE AND HEAR APPROXIMATELY 60 HOURS OF MUSIC. IN ADDITION 144 "EPISODES" OF JAZZ INTERLUDES ON AVERAGE 5-7 MINUTE LONG PERFORMANCES THAT WERE RECORDED WERE PRODUCED AND VIEWABLE ON VARIOUS SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS AND THE ORGANIZATION'S WEBSITE. THE NUMBER OF VIEWERS IS UNKNOWN.
JAZZ EDUCTION IN THE FORM OF A WORKSHOP FOR 12 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON ALL PHASES OF THE MUSIC WITH AN EMPHASIS ON LEARNING MUSIC BY EAR AND PLAYING IN A SMALL ENSEMBLE.
JAZZ EDUCATION IN THE FORM OF BOTH ON-LINE AND IN-THE-CLASSROOM EDUCATION PROGRAM TITLED "JAZZ GOES TO SCHOOL," PROVIDED TO 4TH AND 5TH GRADE STUDENTS IN EAGLE COUNTY COLORADO. APPROXIMATELY 600 STUDENTS WERE SERVED. THE PROGRAM TEACHES THE HISTORY OF JAZZ AND THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE MUSIC WITH AN OBJECTIVE OF EDUCATING AND STIMULATING THE NEXT GENERATION OF JAZZ LISTENERS AND PLAYERS. DUE TO COVID-19 PORTIONS OF THE PROGRAM WERE PRESENTED ONLINE.
