Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
AS WITH OTHER SWALLOW HILL PROGRAMMING, THE SCHOOL CEASED ALL IN PERSON ACTIVITIES IN 2020 DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. THE HARD WORKING AND CREATIVE SCHOOL TEAM PIVOTED ALL CLASSES TO AN ONLINE PLATFORM TO REACH OVER 1400 STUDENTS WHICH HAS CONTINUED EVEN AFTER IN PERSON PROGRAMMING RETURNED IN AUGUST OF 2021. THE SCHOOL WAS ABLE TO RE-ENGAGE OVER 800 STUDENTS ONCE THE YALE FACILITY REOPENED TO THE PUBLIC IN THE FALL. THROUGH GROUP CLASSES, PRIVATE LESSONS AND WORKSHOPS THE SCHOOL WAS ABLE TO MAKE ALMOST 13,800 MUSICAL CONNECTIONS BY YEAR'S END. ADDITIONALLY, THE SCHOOL GRANTED $12,229 IN TUITION ASSISTANCE FOR SCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR 29 STUDENTS.
AFTER CANCELING OR RESCHEDULING ALL IN PERSON CONCERTS DUE TO THE PANDEMIC IN 2020, SWALLOW HILL BEGAN PRODUCING CONCERTS ONCE AGAIN IN THE SUMMER OF 2021 IN OUTDOOR VENUES SUCH AS THE DENVER BOTANIC GARDENS AND FOUR MILE HISTORIC PARK. IN THE FALL OF 2021, SWALLOW HILL REOPENED ITS DOORS FOR INDOOR CONCERTS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE MARCH 2020. WITH A NEW CONCERT TEAM IN PLACE, SWALLOW HILL WAS ABLE TO PRODUCE 67 CONCERTS AND CREATE OVER 27,000 MUSICAL CONNECTIONS BY THE END OF THE YEAR. AS CONCERT PROGRAMMING CONTINUES TO EXPAND, SWALLOW HILL ASPIRES TO REACH NEW AUDIENCES AND COMMUNITIES THROUGH A MORE DIVERSE OFFERING OF LOCAL AND NATIONALLY KNOWN ARTISTS.
AFTER PAUSING ALL PROGRAMMING IN 2020 AS THE PANDEMIC FORCED SCHOOL CLOSURES, OUTREACH PROGRAMMING TOOK OFF IN THE FALL OF 2021. BY THE END OF 2021 SWALLOW HILL HAD REHIRED 7 OUTREACH INSTRUCTORS TO BRING WEEKLY MUSIC PROGRAMMING TO OVER 1100 STUDENTS IN 57 CLASSROOMS ACROSS 15 SCHOOLS. SWALLOW HILL PARTNERS WITH SCHOOLS AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE MUSIC PROGRAMMING, WHO HAVE A MAJORITY OF STUDENTS THAT QUALIFY FOR FREE AND REDUCED-PRICED LUNCH AND/OR HEADSTART SUPPORT, AND HAVE HIGH DIVERSITY AMONG STUDENTS. OUR PRIMARY FOCUS HAS BEEN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION MUSIC PROGRAMMING THROUGH OUR LITTLE SWALLOWS PROGRAM WHICH CONSISTS OF 30 MINUTE CLASSES ONCE A WEEK FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR THAT ADDRESS THE FOUR COLORADO ACADEMIC STANDARDS FOR PRESCHOOL MUSIC: EXPRESSION, CREATION, THEORY, AND AESTHETIC VALUATION.
