COLORADO VINCENTIAN VOLUNTEERS (CVV) OFFERS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE (AGES 21-30) SERVE THOSE MOST MARGINALIZED WHILE ENGAGING IN PERSONAL FORMATION AND COMMUNITY LIVING. CVV CONNECTS THESE YOUNG ADULTS WITH AGENCIES THAT SERVE THOSE WHO ARE LIVING IN THE MARGINS OF SOCIETY.

IN A TYPICAL PROGRAMMATIC YEAR, COLORADO VINCENTIAN VOLUNTEERS (CVV) INVITES YOUNG ADULTS TO PARTICIPATE IN A YEAR OF ENGAGEMENT WITH MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS WHILE ENGAGING IN A FORMATION PROGRAM AND INTENTIONAL LIVING COMMUNITY. CVV ACCOMPLISHES THIS MISSION BY PLACING THESE YOUNG ADULT VOLUNTEERS AS FULL-TIME STAFF MEMBERS IN AGENCIES THAT PROVIDE SERVICES, RESOURCES, EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE, HOUSING, EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE AND JOB TRAINING TO THOSE WHO ARE IN NEED. THE VOLUNTEERS LIVE IN AN INTENTIONAL FAITH COMMUNITY AND PARTICIPATE IN A STRUCTURED PROGRAM OF EXPERIENCE, ACTION AND REFLECTION ON SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES AND THEIR WORK EXPERIENCES. EACH ONE OF THE VOLUNTEERS WORKS APPROXIMATELY 32 HOURS PER WEEK (FOR 45 WEEKS), OR 1500 HOURS OF SERVICE EACH. THE AGENCIES HAVE ESTIMATED THAT HAVING ONE VOLUNTEERS SAVES THEM APPROXIMATELY $14,000 TO $25,000 ANNUALLY. SINCE 1995, MORE THAN 380 VOLUNTEERS HAVE COMPLETED THE PROGRAM. THROUGHOUT ITS HISTORY, CVV VOLUNTEERS HAVE PROVIDED OVER 649,000 HOURS OF DIRECT SERVICE WITH MORE THAN 68 AGENCY PARTNERS.
