SAN LUIS VALLEY FARM WORKER HOUSING CORPORATION WAS CREATED TO EXPAND OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE TO MIGRANT AND SEASONAL FARMWORKERS BY ALLOWING THEM TO OBTAIN LOW-COST HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS BY CONSTRUCTING, REHABILITATING AND PROVIDING DECENT, SAFE AND SANITARY HOUSING IN THE AREA. THE HOUSING IS FOR LOW-INCOME PERSONS AND FAMILIES WHO OTHERWISE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD OR FIND A SUITABLE PLACE TO LIVE. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THROUGH THE US DEPARTEMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND VARIOUS OTHER STATE FINANCING AGENCIES HEAVILY SUBSIDIZE THIS PROGRAM.
