COOPERATIVE PURCHASES FOR ELECTRONIC RESOURCES AND DATABASES WHICH ARE LICENSED BY LIBRARIES STATEWIDE AND DELIVERED TO ALL TYPES OF PUBLIC, ACADEMIC AND SCHOOL COMMUNITIES. PROGRAM SAVES PARTICIPATING LIBRARIES AND INSTITUTIONS MORE THAN $16M COMPARED TO RETAIL PRICES FOR SUCH ELECTRONIC RESOURCES AND DATABASES.
SUPPORTS COST EFFECTIVE SHARING INITIATIVES, SUCH AS THE COLORADO LIBRARY COURIER, THAT IMPROVES ACCESS TO MATERIALS VIA INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL) STATEWIDE. FOR PARTICIPATING LIBRARIES, ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS AND SCHOOLS, THE COURIER SYSTEM ANNUALLY TRANSPORTS MORE THAN 1.8 MILLION ITEMS AMONG PARTICIPATING LIBRARIES AND INSTITUTIONS.
MANAGES A SHARED ONLINE CATALOG SYSTEM CALLED ASPENCAT-INFRASTRUCTURE FOR RURAL & SMALL LIBRARIES, WHICH PROVIDES ACCESS TO RESOURCES & COLLECTIONS HELD BY THOSE LIBRARIES. THROUGH A COLLEAGUE-ON-CALL SERVICE, PROVIDES NO-COST CONSULTING EXPERTISE TO RURAL & SMALL LIBRARIES ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS, RANGING FROM POLICY DEVELOPMENT, COLLECTION MANAGEMENT, HUMAN RESOURCES, DATA-DRIVEN PLANNING, SPACE UTILIZATION AND NICHE TECHNOLOGIES. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES MANY OTHER SERVICES AS WELL.
