GLENN MONROE YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS. WE OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS FOR YOUTH ATTENDING UNIVERSITIES, COMMUNITY COLLEGES OR TRADE SCHOOLS. THE YOUTH SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IN SPRING AND THE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE DISTRIBUTED IN SUMMER DIRECTLY TO THE SCHOOL. AMOUNT OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE DETERMINED BY DONATIONS, AS WELL AS, INVESTMENT EARNINGS. A COMMITTEE REVIEWS ALL APPLICATIONS, INTERVIEWS EACH CANDIDATE, MAKES THE SELECTIONS OF THOSE TO RECEIVE THE SCHOLARSHIPS AND COMMUNICATES WITH THE SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS. THIS YEAR WE AWARDED A TOTAL OF $9,900.00 GMYSF SCHOLARSHIPS: 3 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR $3,300.00 EACH.

THIS YEAR WE PURCHASED A LUGGAGE RACK FOR EACH OF THE 16 PRIVATE ROOMS AT THE HOUSE, AND A $7,113.00 CHECK.
COLON CANCER COALITION'S MISSION IS TO EMPOWER LOCAL COMMUNITIES TO PROMOTE PREVENTION AND EARLY DETECTION OF COLON CANCER AND TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THOSE AFFECTED. MONEY RAISED THROUGH LOCAL EVENTS ARE GRANTED BACK TO THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THEY ARE HELD. THESE MONIES RAISE SCREENING RATES, INCREASE AWARENESS AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF THE DISEASE AND PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR PATIENTS AND CAREGIVERS.
